On vacation. Rode a life fitness bike today at the hotel. It sucks, cheap construction, plasticy, no interactive screen, zippo, nada. Not sure what it costs but it doesn't compare to peloton.

Did my first Sweat Steady ride today (45 minutes) and wow...that's not easy. It also makes for a great PZ ride imo.

I took a zone approach to it and on the pyramid up I did:

Z3
SS
Z4
Z4/Z5
Z4
SS
Z3

The last 7 minutes were just Z4/Z5 and what I could hold on it.

The 9/25/2021 Matt Wilpers 60 minute PZE ride is an hour at Z2 with cadence adjustments across the intervals.

Pretty easy and smooth ride if you want to put the minutes in but are fatigued.

I'm hoping he does more 75 and 90 minute rides. I don't typically ride live, but I'm going to start incorporating longer than 60 minute saturday rides and need them to build those up.

I'm a relatively new Peleton owner (completely addicted to it, by the way) and it looks like most of y'all are super experienced, so hoping you might be able to help me troubleshoot an issue I've been having.

As I've been doing longer and more intense rides, I've had some numbness in one of my feet after about 40 minutes. It's always the same foot, and I don't really get any relief from going out of the saddle vs being seated. It usually becomes annoying at around 40 minutes, and by 50+ it's almost unbearable. It doesn't subside in a cool down on the bike - only after I've been off for several minutes. This is only happening in HIIT & Hill, Tabata, etc.

Any ideas? I tried going up a size in shoes even though I was already in my regular size, but that hasn't helped. I feel like my posture on the bike is pretty good overall and that the settings are appropriate to my height. But I'm willing to try adjustments to the bike or my posture, change seats out, different warm ups, or really anything that y'all think may help.

Common problem while cycling. You could try better insoles for your shoes. Also try changing the cleat position to behind the ball of your foot.

If these don't work you can run down the google rabbit hole. As I mentioned, it's pretty common in the cycling world so I imagine lots of articles and discussion about it.

I had to consciously make sure I didn't tighten my shoes too much. I would really crank them down and would start to get numbness later in rides as my feet got a little swollen. Now I have them just barely less than loose to start a ride and I have good feeling the whole ride, even in the 90 min. rides.

Make sure you're pressing with the pad of your foot and not forcing the toes down into the front on each stroke.

Hit my 100th ride today.

I exported my ride history and was digging into my performance. It's nice to see a steady increase over the past few months.

About 2 months into owning the Peloton Bike and absolutely loving it. Should have known TexAgs would have a Peloton thread to chime in on!

Hit another PR this morning with a 20 min Olivia hip hop ride. What better way to burn 270 calories in 20 mins!

Y'all have inspired me to try one of Olivia's rides this week. I've done a handful of Cody's and he's fun, but pretty much exclusively stick with Robin. I know her monologues aren't for everyone, but I absolutely love her. And her HIIT/Hill and Tabata rides kick my ass.

eta: Adjusting the cleat on my shoes made a huge difference, so thank you to the poster who suggested that!

I have a couple requirements from the trainer if they want me to keep coming back to them.

1. Have good music/workouts

2. Not stop pedaling/working to "talk" while we are suffering.

I tried Robyn because all I heard about was how hard she was...and yet she stopped like 2-3 times during the ride.

If I am looking to PR, I'm turning to Jess King - Sweat Steady, Kendall Toole for some heavy music and high resistance, Olivia for tabata/HIIT.

During my last 2 weeks off from PZ training I hit 30 and 45 minute PRs doing those workouts.

I bought a legit cycling bib today. Ready to start grinding out some longer rides.

Bunch of coworkers did Waco tri and I'd be lying if that isn't something I'd like to do but I need to spend a lot more time building a base

Done the Waco Tri before. The swim in the Brazos was by far the hardest part. Bike wasn't a hard course (it was my first time on a real bike vs spin and peloton).

Yeah...where I live, having a bike would be a death wish. I actually had a road bike that I sold because of that.

Buying the Peloton reminded me how much I did like riding and then watching my coworkers talk about Waco was interesting.

I figure if I can legit build my base on the peloton again over the next yer maybe I'll start to take the running and really the swimming more seriously.

Just need the basic bike. Order whatever shoes you want, and go.

Not sure anyone here messes with the weights or anything.

For heart rate monitor I use the Schosch rhythm plus
