How long do you want to ignore this user?
Any runners use this? Having lingering knee problems that wont go away and wondering if anyone has had success with this. It is on my outer knee so may be rubbing against femur.

If its your outer knee its probably the IT band and a patellar strap wont do you any good. Best to get a foam roller and start working the outside of your thigh. Patellar straps are for patellar tendonitis and that pain pattern is from the bottom of the knee cap to the top of the shin, right in the middle.

Oh, and its probably rubbing the fibula.

I've tried the IT band route and dont feel that's the right answer. Its not on the side of my knee where everything shows ITBS pain to be. It is in the lower outside of my knee where my patella and femoral condyle would rub. Just curious if this really is a cure-all strap like I've heard.

They tend to work for PT which has a pain pattern right below the knee cap. After that the rate of success decreases rapidly.

I get really bad jumper's knee (patellar tendonitis) after playing bball and I started using the strap. It works pretty well, but what REALLY works well is KT tape. You can buy it from academy and lookup videos on youtube for application instructions.

Straps are like band-aids, but band-aids and straps can get the job done. I would be more curious about your pelvis and specifically to see if your quadriceps is firing well.
