Wolfbox is mid. OP likely has an auto dim mirror, losing that to install a Wolfbox seems silly.

Can you just tap into the upfitter switches?

Looking for product recommendations, not installation tips. No you can't tap into upfitter switches. Those are just low voltage control switches that run to the engine bay relay box, so any internal gadgets would have to route through firewall which is not practical on this mode, or tap into fuse box behind glove box.

I just got a dashcam for my new car and looked at a lot of review. The VIOFO products offer significantly better images than others in their price range. I went with the A229 Plus.

In the past I just used a wire tap to power it through the rearview mirror so no wires. In order to use the parking camera on this one I needed to tap into power that was always on so I had to run the wires down the the fuse box. The hard wire kit from VIOFO has fuse taps and a plastic tool for tucking the wires into the headliner. I ran three wires, front dash cam, rear dash cam, and radar detector just by pushing them into the cracks between the headliner and pillars and through weatherstripping for the rear camera without taking anything off. No wires are visible.

In my 3 vehicles I've had red tiger, Vantrue and Viofo. Red Tiger and Vantrue are my newest and they've already crapped the bed. My viofo a229 plus is still going strong, on its 4th summer of Texas heat. I'd recommend at least a 2 camera set up (front and back). You can get a 3 way for internal as well if you choose to. Go ahead and buy a larger memory card to use instead of the small capacity that ships with any camera.

Viofo and just tuck the wires away.
