You're pretty much in raptor territory there.

If ford were smart they would have brought back the Eddie. Bauer

Is Eddie Bauer still around?

Probably displaced by Duluth Trading Company.

Filson has been around since 1897. I still want a 1996 Eddie Bauer Bronco, but a 2027 Filson is a pretty legit outdoor partnership.

Far more legit than Eddie Bauer which when Chap 11 this year and is closing all physical stores. I own two Filson briefcases. Their stuff is badass and indestructible.

I do have a small hatchet in the truck of the Miata, maybe I should replace it with a small chainsaw, just in case.

A chainsaw becoming flying debris in the cabin of a Bronco would be scary. Hopefully it exits one of the windows before getting to the head/body.

Let's not bury the lead here. Someone is driving around in a Miata with a hatchet.

I have nothing but respect for this.

How does it compare to Orvis?

I did a project out in Georgia in the 1990s. A guy showed up to work one day in a new (to him) Fiero. One of the things he showed us was the demonstration of stashing his .44 between the seat and the center console.

3 days later and I'm still bothered that she has a chainsaw.

I get the idea of forest roads etc. but it's just a huge tool to bring with you unless you are going specifically to cut a tree. I keep a hatchet, spade and small hand saw in accessory bags and in the rear storage compartment. Makes way more sense in a truck with a toolbox. The Bronco for all the things I love about it, isn't exactly flush with cargo space and i have to be pretty strategic about what I bring and how I store it.

I own a very nice leather travel duffel that is Orvis. It's my overnight roadtrip duffel. I love it.

However, I think Filson is elite stuff especially if you are looking for a resilient, lifetime product. I think it might take a bomb to destroy my Filson bags.

Filson had a store at Legacy West in Plano for several years. They also shared one with Shinola in old downtown Plano for a while.

Their stuff is legit but it is comical how much it out prices the income of the rugged lumberjacks it implies wouldn't be caught outside without their $250 flannel.
