We have mainly owned Toyotas and love them. Our 2000 Landcruiser is my husbands pride & joy. I am looking for a large, luxury vehicle that can fit 5-6 adults with good cargo space. We are waiting to test drive a Capstone but the date keeps getting pushed out by dealer (San Antonio)

There is an Ultimate we can get now that we like a lot but I'm hesitant without driving Capstone. Capstone is about $15,000 cheaper but seems smaller.

I would appreciate any opinions from this knowledgeable group. Thanks

The Sequoia does NOT have good cargo space. 5-6 adults and luggage would be very tight

Current generation sequoias are significantly smaller than either the previous generation or a Yukon .

Although Sequoias aren't listed in the recall, they have same engine that is being recalled for main bearing failure.

The v6 hybrid engines haven't been recalled . However I would be surprised if they aren't.

As somebody who owns TWO previous generation Sequoias, I would go with the GMC. The new Sequoia is a disappointment in interior space and overall appearance, and the engine reliability is a question mark.

I don't know about the Denali reliability one way or the other (there's more than one engine option I believe), but it is roomy, drives great and looks great.

The seats in the Denali are hard as a rock. Drive one before considering. Consider a Ford or Lincoln with much better seats. Hard pass on the current Toyota and Lexus engine problems.

Do you expect that the seats in Tahoe are the same as Denali?

Yes. We recently shopped new 24 suvs and pickups. Drove Chevy and gmc. At4, Denali, high country, premier, etc.
Like a rock. Wife has been driving her sister's 24 Tahoe for a month out of town and she said hard pass on the seats. Comparatively, my 23 f150 lariat seats are great. Wife's 23 gx 460 seats are ok but not near as comfortable as the Ford seats.
Strange, but as I age, the seats are very important. Especially with a 28 hour drive coming up…

This. Recently said it on another thread, but seat choice was big for us with both sets of grandparents several hours away from us. The expedition seats are night and day better than GM. It's actually shocking how bad they are.

Howdy Dammit and Mas89 thanks for the valuable feedback.

I'm looking for a larger suv myself and seat comfort is a top objective.

I'll check out the expedition and the Lincoln.

Ford also has the auto start-stop delete option if ordering. It's actually a line item on the window sticker if shopping for one so equipped. This was my 2nd requirement after comfortable seats. Actually found one on a lot at a nearby dealership after looking at dozens of window stickers online.
No annoying engine stopping at red lights.

If you want to be $30-50k upside down year one, get the Grand Wagoneer, might as well go big

Can get good deals on them

I wouldn't go with the grand. Not enough extras for the price increase. Series II is good.

We like my wife's 2022 series 3. Nice car. Road tripped with 6 people and luggage. Very comfortable ride.

We've got a couple of new sequoias in the fleet at work. The 3rd row sucks for adults, no if's ands and buts about it. My head is literally into the ceiling, our 18 Yukon isn't
much better but it is better.

The new QX80 from Infiniti looks pretty cool:

The All-New 2025 INFINITI QX80 Luxury Full-Size SUV (infinitiusa.com)

Totally new design. Has improved seating and cargo space.

Over 500 ft-lbs of torque from twin turbo V-6.
