Thought about that but then afraid my trade value will drop on my 2022 I am trading in. Currently got 3k off sticker and 4500 in rebates as you mentioned plus fair value on trade.

I wouldn't wait. some people have a tendency to always want to wait for drops and changes and keep telling people to wait on decisions on these boards. those people know just as much as the rest of us, if that. a lot of those anticipated changes/drops never happen. if you want it, get it.

I think it would give me pause that it's one of the only vehicles out there right now getting $x off sticker and rebates. Other than that, I like the look.

pretty sure the ram trx's are also. its a jeep/dodge/fiat product. I feel like a lot of those get $$ of msrp.

There are some dealers that have been consistently selling TRX's for $10,000 off MSRP over the past year.

A series III with options is basically a Yukon Denali fully-loaded...

It will have everything the Denali with a few differences.

Denali has the rearview mirror camera and folding mirrors. Wagoneer doesn't have folding mirrors. They will change that in upcoming models - big time blowback from people.

We've got almost 10k miles on ours and really do love it. It's grown on me but gdamn they're expensive. However, a fully-loaded Denali costs about the exact same, maybe a little less MSRP.

Things I do like:
  • Handles magnificently - doesn't feel like you're driving a 400HP 214" long 6,000lb tank. It drives like a car and has an insane turning radius.
  • Air ride suspension is very, VERY smooth. When raised, it has the highest ground clearance in it's class - over 10". We did some very mild off-roading in it this summer in Colorado and it was masterful.
  • Plenty of power pushing down the highway. We had 6 people, 2 dogs, 2 sets of golf clubs and full luggage cruising down the highway at 85mph to Colorado and back. Plenty of pick-up.
  • Interior, dash, user interface feels much more premium than even the Denali. WAY better than the tahoe and old expy's. New Expeditions look tesla-like with the massive touch screen upgrade.
  • Roof racks are included and have a storage bin under the back cargo area to hide away.
  • A LOT of space behind the 3rd row... more than the denali/tahoe and way more than previous models of the fullsize SUV (outside the XL's)
  • 3rd row reclines. I rode in the back some on our trip and felt very comfortable. Seats are premium.

Things I don't like:
  • It's improving but dealers don't know dick about these things.
  • Tow package is damn near impossible to find and I couldn't order one with it
  • "Option" packages are too grouped and not enough a-la-carte. Want the moon roof? you HAVE to get the 22' wheels, automatic running boards and upgraded sound system.
  • Only one drive-train option. Maybe they'll put the new twin turbo Hurricane in these - said to be replacing the 6.4L V8 in the Grand Wagoneer.
  • The 5.7L Hemi is powerful but it guzzles gas. We're only getting about 15-17 MPG - mostly city driving but the 1600mi trip to Colorado we averaged just over 18. It's sweet spot is about 65-70mph. Doing 80 or 80+ really sucked gas with the 8 speed transmission.
  • New UConnect5 system (media interface) is a bit finnicky and buggy. I'm sure they're working on it.
  • Connected Services (app with remote start and what not) only comes 6 months free... then it's like $10/month. A lot of car mfg.s are going this route.
  • Forced 22" wheels when I wanted 20s or 18s for better tires and real off-roading.

All that being said... these things turn heads and I've had a lot of people come up to us and ask about it. I think they look way better than the Grand Wagoneer with less chrome. We have the Baltic Sea gray color... I really wanted the deep red. Saw one the other day and the red looks sexy.

I don't really get the market for the Wagoneer. Is it supposed to compete with a Limited/platinum Expy and a Denali/Tahoe LTZ? Why is it so expensive if it doesn't have some of the standard features in those lines? I guess the Grand Wagoneer is supposed to compete with Navigators and Enscaldes, but it's not even a separate luxury brand. Once again Chrysler has *****d out the Jeep name to make a buck on people who think they are getting luxury off-roaders. I honestly don't know much about them other than they are super expensive for something Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep. Too much confusion around the differences in the two products unless you research.

Honestly, for full size SUVs the two most off-road worthy are the Tahoe Z71 and the FX4 Expy. They sacrifice some of the comforts in suspension and looks in the wheel tire packages so that they are somewhat credible. Jeep just likes to slap "trail rated" on crossovers and call it a day based on name alone.

Some of this is from my hatred for what Chrysler did to Jeep. I have owned a 90 YJ and a 92 XJ and both of those were holdover AMC designs. I do feel like Chrysler has been ok with continuing the real off-road legacy with the wranglers and gladiators to an extent, but they haven't had much real competition recently. I don't think I can forgive the fact that there was a 2wd wrangler.

the only thing not standard in some of those trims is the folding mirror - that's all I can think of.

And, as I said in my post above... the price difference isn't really that far off.

I think part of the "Woah those things are pricey" is the only ones they put out first in production were the TOP line ones. The Series I, which is basically a LT tahoe is right below 60k...

Go price a Denali with loaded options, Expy platinum, etc. and you'll be right around the same.

I actually did that (and have a Diesel Denali on order right now) and I believe the difference was $2k. That's negligible on a 85k+ SUV.

Any Wagoneer owners want to share updated experiences? Has anybody picked up a 2023 yet with the Hurricane I6?
