To quote one of my favorite TexAgs Automotive Board replies when someone asked
"would you buy a former rental car"?
The reply (I do not remember who said it) was
"would you marry a former prostitute"?
Always seemed to be a very saturated market.Jack Cheese said:
Hertz may be flooding the market of lots of cars soon... they just declared Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

It's very possible the oil was changed but the "timer" wasn't reset.aggieforester05 said:
I drove this Hemi Ram rental from enterprise today. This is why you don't buy former rentals:

Likely IMO. Rental companies are supposedly good about routine maintenance. They treat the cars well.

You might not, but something like 75% of new and recent vettes are auto.aggieforester05 said:evan_aggie said:

Right.... if they're $60K+ as a used rental, they were really overpriced to begin with. All slush box cars as well. I'd never buy an auto vette, especially not with the 8 speed.

I bought a suburban rental. No problems. Like any used car it's a crap shoot. Bought it as 18k miles now it's at 130k.
The question is do you wait to buy a car?
