Sorry I was typing fast. Said half the carb got Clogged. Broke the crankshaft? I'm not scared of wrenching my buddy from church has done a lot of hot rods and motor swaps so he said no problem

You aren't an idiot at all, you just need to link the source file - which is something most image hosting services try to hide. In your case click on the photo to see it full size then with a right click select image source or 'show image location' or some some such based on your browser. the file name will need to end in .jpg.

Sweet thanks CP. also with the motor swap I will actually be in it for less than before he blew the motor. And I don't think the motor is trashed it wasn't the crankshaft he said the crank but we don't think that's what it is but I am going ahead with the motor swap from a buddies 69 el Camino he was swapping for a bigger motor

Well, good thing I got it cheaper. I knew I would run into some issues.

I am at a crossroads- basically I need to decide do I do the 4speed transmission swap(mine is a 74 built 12/73) and mate to my 3 speed TC. I do that or I am looking to buy a new Transmission case and rebuild.

I understand through reading the 4 speed coupled with the 3 speed TC will give a lower gear. The 3 speeds, also apparently don't have synco in 1st gear so it sticks apparently. I was thinking I may just upgrade to the 4 speed.

The reason I am looking to do this is well, evident in the picture. It seems whoever did the conversion did not use advance adapter or another company, it seems they used a chevy clutch and mated it with the transmission by cutting the transmission case. I will know more when I pull it this weekend.

wish me luck...apparently texags censors the short version of transmission.





edit* after posting on Mud looks like I should be good. just going to get the inspection cover and lower bellhousing cover. at least I hope

Got the engine pulled on Saturday now I'm dropping the ****** and tcase to fix a couple tcase leaks.... basically wife thought I'd be done by now we'll we know how this goes. Got the engine out may as well remove it all and get it very sound.

Now who wants a 350 with a loose crank...

Also I don't mean to clutter this thread up I guess I should make a build thread if that is preferred
