Is it under $2?

Here's what it is for "my" Wal*Mart:

Regular (89) $2.84

Midgrade (91) $2.87

Supreme (93) $3.29

Diesel $3.43

But that's like $.08+ cheaper than surrounding places.

And, remember, other than Wal*Mart, which has ethanol in all grades, in Iowa the Mid is usually the cheapest (ethanol subsidy), with Regular more expensive, and then Supreme.

Where I'd get gas, normally, in SA, it's showing $2.77/2.96/3.14/3.42.

$2.21 in 2014 dollars is the same as $2.00 in 2008 - so due to mega inflation (insert THANKS OBAMA here), we're almost back to the same price, value-wise.

I'm paying about $2.34/gal at the Shell station by my house. Diesel is right at $3.25/gal.

Is that one of those gimmicks, though, where it's "Buy 2 128 oz OMGIt'sComingRightForUs Gulps and 2 Hot Dogs and get $.25/gallon discount"?

I think they have taken a big hit from Buccee's in Madisonville because they never had the cheapest gas in the past. We stopped there a couple of weekends ago each way on a trip from Dallas to the Tine and back and they were $0.25 cheaper than anyone else on 45. They finally upgraded their banos as well to compete with Buccees too.

Maybe they are taking a loss/breaking even on the gas just to get you to stop. Worked on me, but I like their jerky too anyway!

This. Noticed the same thing on a trip between 'Tine and Frisco about 3 weeks ago. Love me some Woody's jerky!!

I don't want it that low. I make more money when its up and gas is a small part of my expenses.

anywhere that commonly has ethanol-free gasoline?

I've got a local place that I can buy ethanol free, but it's $0.50 extra a gallon. Not worth it for a vehicle, but definitely for small engines and boats.

There are a couple of places on 35 in Oklahoma that have ethanol free gas and it's cheaper than ethanol gas. But, you'd have to drive to Oklahoma.

Just curious. Trying to see if I can touch the 36 mpg my 2.slow is advertised to get on the hwy.

I bet if you did 60mph, then you'd get 36.

Funny enough the truck I'm driving here pretty much gets 29.5 mpg all the time whether I'm running the hell out of it or poking around town.

Ideal is closer to 55 but you're right. Just want to see what full blown gasoline does.

With that ethanol-free gas in Oklahoma, I averaged 39 MPG with cruise set at 70-75 in my veedub 2.0T on southbound 35.

I got 41mpg on tanks from SA, sans ethanol, to Dallas in the RaceKrautmobile. Done that once or twice, gotten high 30s numerous times. With ethanol I'm usually mid 30's.

Ethanol, killing MPGs since it started getting put into our gasoline.

With the ethanol free gas in Kilgore, I averaged 15.5 mpgs on cruise at 75mph on my way to Houston.
