For some reason Corvettes get modified more than almost any other car - and usually Bubba does some strange things when he modifies his Corvette. Maybe it is the Corvette Summer curse. The 3rd generation seems to be Bubba's generation of choice.

Wow. WTF!?

Especially the hippie-mobile vette.

Why in the hell would you do that to ANY car, let alone a Vette?

The Corvette limo is interesting....the Mustang with the Corvette rear end is not.

I laughed at the red one with the vinyl roof and the Buick Riviera rear treatment, but mostly they make me sad.

Thanks old main...
That is quite a collection of messed up vettes. Most were C4s or newer so that's okay, bot the split t window coupe mods made me sad.

Doesn't excuse it from being a sad case for messing up a Corvette, but this one is from the movie "Corvette Summer" The owner of Mid America Motorworks has it in his collection.

The ones with the station wagon look or kamback were a kit that some company was selling in the late'70s to early '80s. Can't remember who though.

I think it was Greenwood that was selling the station wagon conversion kits for C3s.

When Corvette Summer first came out that car was all the rage. Now of course it looks way over the top. In the movie the bad guys painted the car gold and it actually looked good - well better than the pic two posts above. If I find the gold Corvette Summer car I'll post pics.

I thought there would be more comments about this car...

There should be a car jail where they send people who hideously destroy classic cars.

I'm still not sure what that giant logo thing is on the back.

Old Main, you were right, Greenwood had the station wagon kits. Eckler may have had a kit too.

From the article on fishmanaudio.com, the thing on the back is a 15" tv that when you press a button will move out of the body of the vette.
They spent 4 months "modifying" the car. Article was from 2002. So that was a fairly new car they butchered.

Here is another station wagon vette.

Just in case it wasn't obvious I wanted to point out that I looked for the absolute worst modified Vettes. The two police cars really don't belong on this thread, but it was the first time I had seen the pics so I just included them. There are a lot of Corvette owners that have beautifully modified Corvettes, some of these cars look better than when they came from the factory. As a Corvette owner with a modified C5 I can tell you that the "mod bug" is hard to shake and it is difficult to say enough is enough. Obviously these owners went way over the line with their mods...unfortunately that is what happens when Bubba has a lot of time and money and very little sense and style.

Weird...I didn't see any fake port-holes on any of those cars...guess that too "trashy"

I don't have a photo, but there is a guy who drives a black C6 Corvette in the Houston Galleria area with a bunch of Pep Boys accessories attached to his car. He has a portholes, spears, vents, fake chrome, logos, you name it on his car. I happened to see most of this stuff at Pep Boys the last time I was there and it is the same merchandise.

I wish i could find this pic but it's of a c6 vette converted to look "like" a ferrari. It's absolutely terrible. The car was yellow, but I can't seem to find it in any pictures. I orginally saw them on www.corvetteforum.com over a year ago.
