After a nice day of fishing (3 ling and a limit of state water snapper)and a great dinner of fresh fish myself and several compadres settle in for the game (with a cooler of beer and a bottle of tequila).

Midway through the 3rd quarter of misery, the lights and the TV go blank. Looks like pretty much the whole island blacked out.

I am a relative new-bie here, but have to wonder....between the crappy water and periodic power outages, are we the red-headed step-child of Corpus? Seems like our our infrastructure is a little tenuous, despite the agressive taxation on our little berg.

At least the outage spared me from the final quarter of pain and it did not turn off my beer-cooler. Just rambling.

Corpus has always been slow getting services to annexed areas. A few times the courts have ruled that CC had to hurry and provide services or the annexation would be revoked.

The island is far from the red-headed step child, that would be your western neighbors, the bluff rats!
