Longview has a Double Dave's Pizza now. I got adicted to their peperoni rolls when I was living in College Station.
La Finca in Gilmer is the best Mexican food.
Elena's & Carlito's -- Two best Mexican food joints in Beaumont. (Given Beaumont is a little more SouthEast)
Little Mexico - Palestine
Taqueria El Lugar in Tyler. Either one, but the newer one in South Tyler is the easiest to get in. Two #7's and a drink....with plenty of green sauce.

From the traffic star go down 259/79 South towards Nacogdoches/J'ville about 1/2 mile. Before you get to the next light at the top of the hill, across from the Penzoil Oil Change joint, take a left on Polk Street. Bob's is there on the left. You will not regret it.

butcher boys is way overrated. go to Mr. Wills for a burger. its in the big gas station on the loop and 7 east. 5 years ago i would also have recommended aubreys', which was the best food in the history of man.
catfish: meadors on 59 N, or dyes' out in melrose.
mexican: theres eleventy billion in nac, but san miguels on south street is way underrated. pretty good authentic mexican

TYLER - Don Juan's, Pico de Gallo, Julian's, and Baan Natiya (i sure hope it is still open, i havent eaten there in a while)
Best burger in Texarkana is found at TLC's downtown.
2nd the nomination for Big T's in Kilgore. Legendary.
Lufkin - Ray's Drive In (original one on Timberland Dr.) BEST onion rings and hamburgers anywhere. I'll drive miles out of the way to swing through there to eat at Ray's.
What about Johnny Casey's (?) in Longview and Tyler? Very good seafood.
the one in tyler closed down. that guy has been running into problems with the health department for years now. almost every one of his restaurants has been hit with complaints/charges from the health department. i'd pass on any of them in tyler.
