i find it humorous to see all of the younger PTHS alums posting their football record. wow, we still suck! but we did beat LHS my senior year and our students stormed their field (hello Matt Usey, if you're out there)!!!

Way back then - Daingerfield whipped everybody. Some of you football fans need to check out the record of the 1983 team, note the points allowed.

Daingerfield was amazing back in the day (I graduated from Mt. Pleasant in 1979). There was a book about Texas high school football and Daingerfield had their own chapter.

Wasn't it around then when Rodney Dangerfield had a movie premier there?

I lived in DeKalb for a while as a kid and we lost annually to Dangerfield. I graduated from Sweeny, down on the coast, and they lost to that Dangerfield team in the early 80s (a while after I graduated....from A&M...)Now my son's HS team (Whitehouse) has a head coach we were lucky enough to get from Dangerfield and the boys went further in the playoffs than the school ever has. He's a fine fellow and a heck of a coach. Guess if you can't beat em' join 'em or 'if you don't have an oil well, get one.'

Daingerfield, Texas...What year did you graduate? My dad graduated from DHS in '74 and mom in '76. I graduated from DHS in '97 (played football) and TAMU in '01. I'm actually a Lone Star boy...born and raised. (And to Aggiemom...and yes, I was there for for the Rodney Daingerfield premier and parade in '96.)

Sorry for the late response. I get to these boards somewhat infrequently due to work and three kids.

I graduated in 1978 per my post above. My mother was the a teacher at Lone Star Elementary from 1968 when we moved back to East Texas until she retired in 1981. She taught second grade and kindergarten in Texas for 40 years. Do you remember a Mrs. Hass?

I check the Longview paper's website during the year for news about back home. Are the Tigers going to be at least decent this next year?

When I get posts about back home and when the Ags are doing well in any sport....I hate being a Expatriated Texan. But my kids need to finish school here in GA and my wife's parents are here....so we are to.

Mr. loveaTm graduated from Westwood (in Palestine) 1989....he might be the only person in his class who went to a 4 year school.
