A coworker is on Westpark at the moment and just sent this picture.

Maybe not the thread for this conversation, but I heard people complaining they were stuck on 99 for 2 hours this morning. What are we paying tolls for if not for snow plows and salt trucks?
Dude, we gotta pay all those giant executive salaries.

Yes - if there's one thing we need to spend more money on here, it's definitely snow plows and salt trucks.

I can already see Dora calling a friend to place an order….

But for real, you'd think the toll roads would have at least "rented" or called in salt trucks from other states like the city did.

Google maps has traffic built into the app. A lot cheaper than snow plows.

I left at 5am this morning to get to work. It's quicker to go westpark to 59 to 10, but I went up 99 to 10. Sounds like I made the right choice.

I passed by that as well around 750 this morning. Appeared to be an older Hispanic woman. She was sitting in the car talking to the police and looked to be uninjured.

No sh&^T,
Especially when you have to pay a toll every 2 miles! (I know, exaggeration, but not by much :-) )

Whitmire is an adult and can plan for things like this. Dora is a moron who is probably back in therapy from having another mental issue from caving under the pressure of actually needing to be a leader.

I'd have been happy with dump trucks and some sand.

Doesn't appear any of the toll road authorities even bothered with that on overpasses. 3 wrecks on the way to the office this morning, all of them on the downhill side of an overpass that had ice on it with no appearance of any treatment at all.

Once I got off and onto 59 the roads were significantly better - even the elevated by GRB was free of ice.

The interchange going from 288 to BW8 was a charlie foxtrot. About halfway up is as far as the cars made it. Part because of ice all over the place, part because [i'm assuming] the cars that were blocking the roads were going too slow to make it up the incline and got to the halfway point where they could go no further.

You really saw that and can't figure it out? You really think Alaska hasn't gotten snow and south Florida has?

I think he was probably suggesting that the map maker screwed up by signifying snow cover with color and lack of snow cover with white. It would be like showing positive cells on a budget spreadsheet in red and negative ones in green.

Nope. I see my county in green and we haven't had a freeze and no precipitation. I see Harris County and North Dakota, both of which have had snow also green. The map makes no sense to me.

Is green the area that has had snow?

No, the only areas in the country that have had snow is south Floria and the valley. The rest haven't seen any this year including the Rocky Mountains.

Can't tell if serious. Just seems very unlikely that it has snowed in (damn near) every single county in the US this winter. I haven't checked or anything though. Has it snowed in Vegas? Every county in Arizona? South Carolina?

I don't know about this year, but I have been there in January when it had snowed, so not tooo crazy to think so

Yeah I'm not arguing it never snows there...or even that it hasn't this winter. Just hard for me to believe it's snowed in every single county of most every single state this winter.

I live near the boundary of Maricopa and Pinal Counties in Arizona and I can assure you it hasn't snowed here this winter. It shows both counties in green on the map.

Great question. I was passing it along and didn't confirm it.

I also question that Jackson, MS county in Mississippi hasn't seen snow. I believe that is Hinds county.

It's not that rare for Hawaii big island and Vegas to see snow, but I don't remember it being cold enough for snow in Vegas this year. It's definitely snowed on Hawaiis big island. Does most winters up top

Every SC county is not hard to believe this Winter. Nor is Georgia's.

Just think it's funny that out of all the colors in the world, the mapmaker chose white to show where it hasn't snowed.
