Mom texted me last night.
Apparently her daughter will finish out her term. Not sure how that works, I thought they had to hold a special election. I didn't know the House could along a replacement.

Her daughter is running for the special election to finish out her mom's term. She is not running for the election to take the seat for the 2-year-term that was already on the November ballot.

Can you imagine the names she called her son in law? If that poor girl is married, that is.

Also, I am terribly disappointed in her daughters hair style. I expected more.

She is married....
I went to HS with her, she was a year ahead of me & graduated in 1998. I distinctly recall her "explaining" why I should have to pay reparations.

She didn't fall far at all from the tree. And quite frankly I always assumed that if her mom ever retired she'd be groomed as the heir apparent for the seat.

On the human level, I'm sorry her mom died. Politically though... nothing will change, nothing will be any different.

Yeah, he had bone cancer in his jaw. Recurrence rate is something like 50-80%. Hopefully he's considerate enough to bow out when it comes back.
