The black bears in the national forest and wildlife area would be more concerning. People to the north might come back to visitors in their house.

My concern is that insurance companies (homeowners, windstorm and flood) are going to take such a big hit from this storm that they will stop offering coverage to those of us that live along the coast.

Damn thing is hauling ass now...NNE at 23 mph. Reminds me of Hugo in 1989 that was moving about 25 mph when it made landfall near Charleston as a Cat 4.

Guess a small silver lining is that it doesn't have much more time to strengthen, but not good news for folks further inland who will be getting a more powerful storm than usual after landfall.
