Um, there is no current forecast track that would direct this tropical hurricane toward the Kingwood area, which is quite a bit inland and would not be severely impacted by its force. I also do not believe it is possible for a hurricane to focus its landfall on a particular community without affecting other communities in its path.

The next run of the GFS is showing the same general pattern, but farther west over the panhandle. Predicted rain totals 24+". Looks like a lot more than 24", but that is where the scale tops out.

Don't we have high pressure building in early to mid week? Aug 7 onward. That is what local weather stated. That would help keep it to our east.

I think that is also what the GFS may be showing as blocking it from moving north. Probably depends on how strong the ridge to the west is and whether it links with the Bermuda high or an opening between the two forms somewhere around Florida and lets it turn north.
