They did remove all the orange though. Which means they claim to know all the problems, now they simply are not getting them fixed for what appears to be a smorgasbord of reasons - awful logistics, lack of parts, pay issues for crews, CEO is paid a lot and DGAF all seem to be the popular ones.

I wouldn't mind the ceo making $38m if they had their **** together.

Can't pay subs.
Can't process repair tickets.
Can't provide updates or accurate communication.

This whole "assessment" plan is bull***** Crews should be empowered to fix every issue they identify.

I am part of the problem and you're the victim...

Yeesh. My genny is leaking oil. I hope it lasts until power is back.

Mine is currently in Webster but you can use it if you want I can help you coordinate to get it. I am going offshore tonight so can't actually facilitate. It will need a break in oil change though as it is brand new.

But you need to cut down every tree on your property within 100 yards of a power line first.

Bleh. Har har. I amended it to removing trees that would hit lines if they fell.

I have streets around me that have had power since Wednesday that still show as assessment complete.

We only ever find out of town trucks at Costco. They are talkative about the issues going on. My neighbor came back with this screenshot on one of his trips looking for Centerpoint to reset our transformer fuse (above).

Some local news reporters are questioning the veracity of some of these claims being made on social media. When they started looking into the claims, they ran into a bunch of deleted accounts and couldn't find anyone who could independently confirm the claims as true.
Not a joke - i wouldn't be shocked if it was Russian bots just out there stirring **** up.

I'm energized on that map and my CP account says Power On but it's not. I wasn't claiming they actually knew anything, just pointing that THEY are claiming they know all the issues because assessments are complete according to their own paint map.

CP's plan is definitely created by an accountant that has no operations experience.

Their fancy new map hasn't been updated in 18 hours.

I think somebody earlier in the thread said they were going to be updating at noon, 4p, and 8p each day going forward.

wtf is xfinity doing while we are talking about ****ty companies? They've been out this entire time too (even if you have power) and I haven't heard a peep out of them.

Very time I check the web for Xfinity, the update is basically just "we'll get to it when it's safe". That's it.

About 3 and a half hours after we had power on, CP sent us a text saying they had identified an issue in our neighborhood that was "affecting 91 customers."

I walked the dog and everyone in our area had full power. The incompetence is pretty stunning.

Our xfinity went out Monday afternoon. Came back sometime Thursday, then back out Thursday evening. Then we weirdly had cable but no internet Friday evening. And now that's out, too.

At least the credit process from the derecho was pretty easy….

At least Xfinity will have to pay their price in lost customers for this kind of thing. Centerpoint won't lose a single customer.

Lost xfinity before the storm really got bad around 5am Monday. Came back for maybe 2 hours Monday night when on the generator. Nothing since.

Lost all xfinity curiously at 4pm Monday after storm had passed. 5th day with nothing. Their update site is a joke and you can't reach a real person.

Cancel service and of course they hook you right up with a rep!!!

East League City area.

I found a xfinity customer forum (Houston Outage) if anyone would like to provide feedback directly to company. https://forums.xfinity.com/conversations/customer-service/outage-in-houston/664f6b1c372cab2c67fb0717?page=2

Mine was pretty spotty for about 12 hours after we got power back Tuesday evening. My TV box got stuck in a reboot cycle and I had to replace it, but the WiFi was fine as of Wednesday morning.

so what's the explanation why I haven't seen a power utility truck since Monday? Like zero. Driving to work to get gas to run errands walking around the hood. Nothing.

Let me know if you want to use the generator. It should power most of a home.

I appreciate the offer. My coworker offered his if mine fails. I'll grab that one if need be since we both run propane.

Fyi mine is dual fuel so will run propane as well.

ATT has generally been better than Xfinity in our hood, but I'm screwed. All my neighbors are up, butt here is some issue on my line from the node. I've walked the whole thing and can't see it, but fiber is difficult. I spent 90 minutes on the phone with 5 different ATT people this am. Last guy, was really trying and knew what was up. However, I'm tagged as being part of the "outage" even though it's just my line. Any tech to repair the line that they schedule just cancels since they are waiting on the outage to be lifted. So dumb, but their system won't allow anyone to come to my house.

I just got the Lina Hidalgo Power Company text going around:

How are you doing?
Did you lose light, water, or food during Hurricane Beryl? That's YOUR money lost. Over 2 million Harris Co residents lost light, It doesn't have to be this way. We have an opportunity to build a county owned power hub using federal money, improving energy reliability. Want to learn more? STOP to opt-out.

Is that Lina's group?

I didn't know it was her, but said she failed this city

This would be almost every mature tree in places like Oak Forest, Timbergrove, and many parts of 77079, 77043 and 77024. Actually, a ton of Houston and the more mature burbs.

When I lived in Oak Forest, just in the 5 homes we immediately bordered, there were probably 5-6 trees that would have demolished the lines had they fallen. And neither me, nor my two direct neighbors to the left or right, had any tall trees.

I don't think people realize just how many trees would have to be cut down to make a significant difference. And a ton of these are trees the homeowners would pitch a mega fit over if you said you had to cut them down.

We used to suspend the tolls did HCTRA not do that this time? Guess those propane tanks at the toll plazas are fully operational and the cha-Ching machine is at 100%

Didn't realize there was a change.

So looks like Jason is making $7M. The last CEO was making $37M. So where did that other $30M go? It wasn't for maintenance, repairs, or vegetation.
