I don't anticipate it coming back anytime soon. We lost power for about 8 hours during the big thunderstorm in mid May

We left for a cruise on Saturday. Pretty sure we're without power in Hidden Arbor off Mueschke.

This is 2 houses down from me. Huge pine fell on their bedroom while they were sleeping. 80 year old couple lives there. They some how came out without a scratch. Said they need the insurance adjuster to hurry up and come out . I don't thing they have plans of leaving.

Actually shocked because my parents in Katy in Nottingham off fry still don't have power. They generally get it back pretty quick since they're on the grid with the hospital.
Got it back after 3 hours in May. And consistently had it during the winter storm after it initially went out.

What might be a good small generator to buy to get some fans and a fridge running in the house?

No idea. Their two adult sons were there. I told them if they need some tarps or something to let me know.

And if you're going to start looking, my advice is to drive to the west (Katy and further) to search since they didn't get it as bad.

That being said, they are expensive.
Harbor Freight sells a 4550W inverter for $680. Would give you more than enough power, so you could even get a window unit or two if you want to expand a bit.

We were fortunate with only some windows leaking. A neighbor's tree toppled and demolished another neighbor's fence.

Yep, from the people saying this was going to be a cat 3, absolutely. It was always on track to be a cat 1 and do cat 1 damage, and that's exactly what it did. Power outages, tree damage, and flooding are all to be expected from a cat 1. What I'm talking about were the people out there talking about this storm having potential to come in as a "major," doing "catastrophic" damage, and the like. There are plenty of examples in this thread, and they've been all over Twitter for days. I'm not going to aggregate them, but there were a ton of examples of pro mets saying this thing had "explosive" potential, how it was "worst case scenario," "potentially catastrophic," etc. If you haven't seen those, you probably weren't paying attention too closely. My point is that it's irresponsible to put stuff like that out there when it is a low end outcome, and I think people should be more careful when doing that, especially when they're "pro mets."
