Lost power in 77345 around 5:45 this morning. Generator kicked on and I went back to sleep. Wind isn't too bad but does have some pretty good gusts here and there. Hopefully this is as bad as it gets.

Go outside and remove the cap from your sewer clean out. Better to have sewage back up in your yard than in your house.

And turn your AC off until you have stable power. I lost a capacitor during power surge.

Sewage backing up in my apartment during ike was one of the larger problems I had.

Not quite as bad. The NE quadrant of a hurricane is the worst, the east side is called the dirty side but things will be less intense as it moves north from your position. If you're going to get hit by a hurricane, ideally you want the eye to pass east of you.

I was in our bedroom talking to the wife and kiddo and watched this fall on our transformer. Adrenaline has me jacked up. Dear Lord, another 10 feet and it would be in our house!!

Glad you are ok. I understand the what if, as my parents had this in April, but hit the house. It could have hit their side of the house.

great advice. So far it's some seepage past the wax seal in our half bath, but otherwise the toilets just aren't flushing.

I'll go pull the clean out cap once these 30mph gusts chill out. My cleanout is directly under one of my three oak trees that are throwing branches all over the yard.
