Got a text from Harris County FWS. If I'm reading the chart right, the gauge shows 2.5 inches since midnight. Does that sound right?

Power cycled off and on, now out. In the GOOF. 5.5" of rain since 4AM.
Close to 99 and Rayford in Spring. Woke up to power coming back on around 6:30. It flickered a few times, but seems to have gone out for real since 7. And I don't think we are even to the fun stuff yet.
I'm closer to 99 and 45 and I'm fortunate. Don't expect it to last long though.

As I sit here watching this, I feel pretty nervous, knowing this is just the start of hurricane season..I guess just take it one storm at a time..

When's the wind supposed to slack off in central Houston/Heights area? Nervous about a few nearby trees. Also curious how 11th at is holding up water/flood wise.

Been here my entire life, I'm well aware. Houston is a concrete jungle, to think tomorrow things will be perfectly normal is what boggles my mind. By that I mean the flooding will be completely gone, no tree limbs or anything in the roads? I doubt it.. hope everyone stays safe

For the most part, this storm will have passed by this afternoon and most of the city will be back to normal.
Rain is outpacing the stormwater system. Ditches are completely full on my street. I'm guessing 11th will be at least partially flooded over the next couple of hours until the rain slows down.MAS444 said:
