How long do you want to ignore this user?
Anyone got any quick ideas on how to ensure a trampoline from blowing away? Was thinking of filling some sand bags and laying them on top of the legs or possibly flipping it over and setting sand bags on top of it that way depending on if I can even get enough guys over to help me flip it. In Austin county so not expecting 100 mph winds but consensus seems to be to expect 70ish mph possibly.

There is a place on the northwest side of town that will convert any generator to run on natural gas. Usually is cheaper that way then a tri fuel one.

Where is this place? And what does something like this cost? Not sure this is right for me, but definitely interested.

Flipping it over alone might be enough.

I've never had to worry when we had ours, but flipping it should be fine, especially if it's on grass. Put a few bags on it for peace of mind.

In the future order you two sets of trampoline anchors off Amazon. It's a set of 3 circular anchors that you spin into the ground. Absolutely flip that thing over tomorrow and try and weigh it down.

Green's Blue Flame Gas. Hempstead Hwy and Blalock.

Not sure of pricing now but a few years ago ~$250

Or run it on propane and you don't have to worry about carburetors. The trade off is you get about 10% less wattage.

Honda is the gold standard, but also expensive. I ran a 5000 watt Predator inverter generator from Harbor Freight on a job site every day for a few months with propane and never had a problem with it once. Also, like a lot of people on here I recently bought the 13,000 wat Duromax tri fuel generator from Home Depot to do my whole house but I've only started it a couple of times and couldn't speak to it really.

Also if you're balling on a budget this champion is very similar to the dual fuel Duromax and significantly less expensive. Hell, this same generator is $400 more at HD as best as I can tell. It's 12000/9500

Beryl is hurting. It will struggle to get back to a hurricane. Big rain maker.

I've had that and it sucks for the trampolines location. Super sandy soil so the anchors don't grab worth a *****

Go toss a tortilla or ram a goalpost at opposing fans, if we are talking about sticking on topic.

I used them as well. I think it was more expensive ($300-400), but they also offered a warranty on their work given the tri-fuel conversion voids the generator warranty.

They do big business though on their conversions which are top notch.

It takes about 10 minutes to take off all the trampoline springs/mat which is where your biggest sail area comes from. My recommendation is take that off and then hold down the frame with the screw in anchors mentioned above.

I put this together for a co-worker on my portable generator setup:

Generator:

I have this generator:
https://www.duromaxpower.com/collections/generators/products/duromax-xp13000hxt-13000-watt-500cc-tri-fuel-gas-propane-natural-gas-portable-generator-with-co-alert?fbclid=IwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTAAAR2AQL_nBcgllqQ8m0tkPp9r6mCbNDAYltG4iZ9ten83IVjuhda7NJxp8iM_aem_Hr427YbCVA-HLbXvhNKBWw

Others have this:

https://www.homedepot.com/p/Champion-Power-Equipment-15-000-12-000-Watt-Electric-Start-Gasoline-Propane-and-Natural-Gas-Tri-Fuel-Portable-Generator-CO-Shield-NG-LPG-Hoses-201161/325472002?irgwc=1&cm_mmc=afl-ir-78091-456723-&clickid=Uiqw-L1nVxyOR-mwUx0Mo3cjUkC05ZwuPWIFVo0

Spark plugs:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KMPBSFO/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

These are the preferred spark plugs. Most generators have moved to this one because the old ones didn't always fire on Natural Gas. I just changed to these an my generator fires up on the first push.

Natural Gas Hose:

https://ab3power.com/natural-gas-hose-with-quick-disconnect-kit/

Hose Size: 3/4 inch unless you need 100feet and then consider 1 inch
Hose Length: estimate from meter to where you will put generator

Generator Hose to interlock:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08RG5RF6K/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1

Need to measure from generator position to interlock (or where you plan to have the interlock).

GenTent (nice to have, but not necessary)

https://www.gentent.com/gentent-universal-kit/

Plumber:
1. Once you get hoses, plumber can add the new nat gas connection and install quick connect that comes with hoses
2. Tony's Plumbing (They should be able to come to your house and I highly recommend calling them to get it done right the first time). They service most of Houston.
a. 832-890-8449
b. https://tonysplumbingtx.com/?fbclid=IwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTAAAR2tgSy_rfO_8YPmqcXWkxAWPwU-6WAiZQcVdc9C2LwcWX436TiXNa_5NXw_aem_Z4A2NQ0kifnoCIPY-XlbxA
c. They charge roughly $200 and takes about 30 minutes. They do a lot of these each day

Electrician
1. Ask them to install a 50amp interlock near panel.
2. Good idea to get a whole home surge protector in the panel as well.
3. You can have him add conduit to move the interlock to a better position. I had them move mine around a window which helped me get a shorter hose to the generator

AC Company
1. Make sure you have a hard or soft start on AC. This lowers the energy needed to start the compressor.
a. Hard start is older tech. Cheap to install and many AC's have them standard now.
b. Soft start is new. More expensive, but "better." Some AC's seem to have some issues with them, but many love them.

Other things:
1. You could consider buying some propane tanks (recommendation is 40lb tanks) to have alternative fuels available.
2. Gasoline as emergency backup due to risk of fouling the carb if it's not cleared out.

There was a time the sea level was 400 ft higher and another time when central Texas would be the point of landfall for the tropical storm

NHC was saying it would struggle today, but by tomorrow should start to intensify in more favorable conditions. How strong it gets it TBD.

There's nothing political about it.

Some of you are looking for things to be upset about.
they have made some posts about "climate change."

Then don't read them. No one is forcing you. I'm know sure why you are letting them have so much rent free space in your heads. If you see them post, just skip past them, it really ain't that hard.
im sorry but are you talking to me?

I was answering someone's question about why some folks thought it was political.

You can keep your unsolicited misdirected advice to yourself.

Seeing as this is an message board primarily for sharing unsolicited, quite often misdirected posts...

eff off.

What's so funny is I have a trampoline I drive past about 4x a day at my house and I still only picture them as the broken bone magnets they were in my youth so I was definitely thinking in my head that flipping it over would definitely work.

I had a legit 10 minute long argument with my wife where I tried to explain that jumping off the trampoline was half the fun and they need to break some bones. I lost.
