I keep my boats gas tank full and just realized it is a great source of back up fuel for my generator anyone do this? Have a pump you recommend to get the fuel out and in to gas cans?

Meteorology 101: a spaghetti line straight through Houston, and another straight through NOLA. Never fails.

My brother and his wife are stuck on Saint Lucia now. He texted a photo this morning and it's still beautiful. Calm before the storm.

They should be trying to leave asap. St Lucia might not exist Tuesday morning.

Most of the models have a northern turn towards the ends of their runs now. Buckle up.

As already noted looks like it would be mostly a rainmaker for us.

Not so sure it's just a rain maker for Houston area. As warms as Gulf waters are.

How can you say that when no one knows yet where it's going to hit?

Most of those still well south of us and some of those at the end are the second system.

I realize that. Just something to keep an eye on. All the models yesterday just had this thing plowing into the Yucatan and then getting buried in Mexico. None showed any turns.

Tropical Tidbits on YouTube Levi Cowan is great and Mike's Weather Page as well. Mike also has an app that is useful.

Trends are that the ridge of high pressure in the states may erode enough to allow it to turn more Northward, instead of cock-blocking it to Mx.

We're too far out to really know. Give it two or three days and we should have a much better indication if it'll likely hit Mexico or go further north in the Gulf.

Yes those trends will be tricky and we may not be so lucky. Maybe if it will cross the Yuc and break up a little bit but then it's hopefully not going to reform in Bay of Compeche

It will probably change a lot as we get closer, but latest update has the Caribbean and Yucatan knocking it down a couple pegs before it gets to the BOC.

Better start stocking up on food items, batteries, fuel for generators. Get the generators out now and make sure to crank them daily until the danger is past. Better safe than sorry. Remember Harvey and Ike a few years back. Plus there is another behind this one maybe a double wham.

From Tropical Tidbits, the GFS model takes Beryl to the Valley and the European model takes it into Mexico.

Levi Cowan seems to think Northern Mexico or the Valley and, of course, anyone reputable is saying it will probably be midweek before they get a better idea of what might happen after the Yucatan.

And…
Houston metro area population:
2005- 4.3 million
2024- 6.8 million

Just a lot more people, cars and traffic now throughout the entire region.

Grenada is megayacht parking central in the offseason, for insurance reasons. They are far enough south to miss most bad storms historically.
