i don't think he's been bad enough to consider leaving him off. and if we did, who replaces him? we barely have enough starting pitching as it is
Yordan Alvarez and Chas McCormick will not accompany the Astros to Cleveland, Joe Espada said. Both will stay in Houston to work with the team’s doctors and training staff. McCormick will take live at-bats. Alvarez is still not doing baseball activity, but is feeling better.

We'll let him rest & push him back. The goal is to take the extra 5 days that he needs. He did feel a lot better yesterday. We want all our guys ready for the start of the postseason." -Houston Astros GM Dana Brownschmendeler said:Yordan Alvarez and Chas McCormick will not accompany the Astros to Cleveland, Joe Espada said. Fair points although 4th starter doesn't come into play until ALCS.
For Wildcard and ALDS rounds it's Valdez, Brown, Kikuchi and then you use any other SPs on roster for long relief or emergency use.
10/1 (WC1) - Valdez
10/2 (WC2) - Brown
10/3 (WC3) - Kikuchi
10/4 - Off Day
10/5 (ALDS1) - Valdez
10/6 - Off Day
10/7 (ALDS2) - Brown
10/8 - Off Day
10/9 (ALDS3) - Kikuchi
10/10 (ALDS4) - Valdez
10/11 - Off Day
10/12 (ALDS5) - Brown
