I've never lived on the coast. When water gets that high, do all homeowners typically evacuate? Or do they just wait it out? Roads are flooded so wasn't sure if people just stayed stranded or if they got around on boats as needed.

Like everything in life. It depends.

Surfside generally warns residents that they will respond up until a mandatory evacuation is issued. After that, you're on your own. Right now, even though water is across the island, it's still not high enough to flood vehicles.

Looks like a little bit of training happening for the storms over Houston. Might pick up rain throughout the afternoon. Rainfall rate is pretty light. This thing was a huge bust.

Wow just got a video of our canal in crystal beach. Good thing I raised the boat all the way up to where the T top is basically touching the roof last time. Skeg is still touching the water.

Edit: we have the highest clearance on our canal. Some of the other boats' hulls are in the water.

Be prepared for the Brazos to rise to near cut bank again as well. It was already high, but there isnt anywhere for the water to go and wont be for a while.
