This strong stuff now should "work over" the atmosphere so anything that comes in tonight in the same areas shouldn't ramp up as fast.

Waiting it out under the gas station roof may have been the smartest thing I've done in several years considering the truck wouldn't fit in my garage if I tried. Saw three trees down on the drive home and bucket trucks swarming around. It's good to be home with a/c going.

I wrongly thought that all the power piles on my property were my responsibility to keep clear so I have been working on that for some time but 811 guy came today and told me that wasn't the case so energy needs to come out and trim them all back. I assume today will be the storm that hands me my ass since it is the day I found out that I could have had everything cleared ages ago.
Power went out around 1:40. Finally got just enough internet to post. Tower signal strength is very poor in our little nook of OF.

What's a good source to know if you lost power at home if no one is there? Wife and kids are out of town and I'm downtown -- want to check on the house and the dogs.

Got an old school landline with an answering machine? Phone will usually still work but the answering machine won't ever pick up if no power.

I know with ATT you can check your internet status on their app. I bet most have something like that.

They were two cars in front of me. I honked, but either they couldn't hear me over the sound of the rain/wind/hail (wouldn't surprise me), they didn't know I was honking at them, or they just didn't care (also wouldn't surprise me).

Happy to not be impacted by this one. It went really dark and windy but no hail and only light rain.

Power tried to come back on three times in a row. Never quite got there, and each time ended with an electric arc somewhere in the distance.
