We only got 6" at our house in Spring. Cypress Creek runs behind our house. The sensor at Kuykendahl and Cypress Creek measured less than 3" and I just don't see how that's possible. That sensor always seems to measure much, much lower than anything we see a little further east.

This Harris County projected inundation map has everyone alarmed. Maybe rightfully so. It shows countless Kingwood subdivisions in line for inundation. I don't know the technical definition of that word when it comes to neighborhood flooding.

To be honest, the enormity of the projected inundation is hard to believe. But what do I know. It looks way worse that Harvey.

I n The Woodlands starting at 3:45 am Friday May 3rd with loud thunder and flashes of lightning woke me up and then heavy rain cell lasting around 1 hour with totals close to .75 inches…expect it to reach one inch within the hour.

West Fork of San Jacinto forecast peak just went from 125' to 121' peak. Looks like I won't be filling sandbags all day for my neighbor.

The forecast if for storms to move in every morning. Saturday, Sunday, Monday....

We all remember the flooding event based on day the happened and year.

All of this is north of I-10 this time around so probably better for the area overall.

Umm...This city floods pretty regularly. This is not a new thing.

Plus yeah...It rains in the spring. April showers bring may flowers.

Exactly. There's a reason we celebrate the tax day floods, Memorial Day floods, Halloween day floods, etc. big days of rain are pretty normal around here.

No joke. My oldest kid was born during the 2015 memorial day floods. Had to map out the high path to the hospital at 3 in the morning.

By no means do I want people to get flooded but we need all the rain we can get in April and May to get us through the summer if it winds up being another dry one.

same here. Lost power again at 4am, current restoration time is 10ish. water is highest I've seen since moving up there from Pearland in 2020.
