Sadly, one major Cat 3 or higher storm on the upper Texas Gulf Coast will make the poofs espousing doom and gloom look like gods to the idiots who gobble this stuff up.
they are like stock market Bears. They eventually get it right, but people lose a lot of focus (and money) if they follow their advice.
I feel like the predictions are always the same.
This year will be the worst year on record!!!! Double anything we've ever seen before!!! We're all gonna die!!! El Nino!!! Global climate change!!!
And then every year, it's about the same as always. Maybe the bad storm hits us, maybe it doesn't. But even our worst years are never as bad statiscally as what's projected.

The really bad stuff blew through Katy about an hour ago. It was nuts. Crazy wind and rain. Forgot to stake down our trampoline and was praying that it didn't get airborne with one of the stronger gusts.
I'm up, no sleep after that…
Anyone get hail? A lot of small limbs and stuff down on west side but I slept through most of that. Briefly woke up at 3am and that was it.
Raining cats and dogs in Cypress from about 2-3 am. Luckily no hail. It is trash day, so bags of trash and recycling bins were floating down the street.

Makes sense, just drove through this area of mason/fry/Kingsland and there are trees down and large limbs

I was debating whether to get everyone up and into an interior bathroom. Sounds like I just got lucky it missed me by a mile or two. Looked like a tornado on the radar

Slept right through it last night. How bad was it in Spring?
Lots of thunder in Spring starting between 3-3:15 am. Didn't hear any hail. We always seem to drop limbs when a storm passes through but we didn't have much when we woke up this morning. So either we were spared or the wind just wasn't too bad. I saw online a couple of downed trees on Cypresswood, and up on kuykendahl near gosling.

I'm near 1463/Roesner and it was nasty from 2-3:00 last night. We didn't have any damage but it sounds like east of us in Cinco and across 99 sure did.
Nottingham Country south of Kingsland between Fry and Westgreen got hit hard last night. One 3-4 block radius had about 30 trees down and lots of other damage. Pretty wild to see 30+ year old oaks pulled up by the roots.
It's really strange. My little cul-de-sac in Copperfield got hit by winds to snap lots of tree limbs, including a 20 foot limb in my front yard.
It also damaged a neighbor's tree and others in the median lost big limbs.
Strangely enough, the rest of the neighborhood appeared mostly untouched.

Must have been crappy enough at the airport to divert some flights. Was in the yard and saw a bigass plane flying low. Watched flightaware and it's an A380 out of Dubai. It's heading to Dallas now
They closed the ball fields at bear creek park around 4 in the middle of my kid's game and I don't think we've had a drop.
