Time constraint is probably annoying for some. The other issue is that, as I understand, rodeo doesn't like to book acts that are playing nearby within months of rodeo; they want it to be a special draw.

So acts that tour heavily might have to decide if they want one rodeo date vs 2 or 3 dates in the Houston area, even at smaller venues. That I can see.

But I don't think they're having a problem getting top stars for the number of nights they want to. Early and midweek shows are often a gamble. I just doubt it's in the budget to have A list every night. Others on here know more about that than I do though.

I was dumb enough to trust the navigators without checking the local news before heading out for the westside. **** that.

The warning signs simply said "left two lanes closed." Would have been more accurate to say "we're diverting all freeway traffic to the one lane exit for 59N."

*there was also a major wreck at the Weslayn exit, which significantly compounded things.

I found the fact the closed 610 more offensive than what could have happened at the rodeo the last two shows. Construction no matter which way you went when try to leave tonight

I wasn't a fan to begin with and he def didn't win me over. I still don't understand how he's "country". Most of his songs were more hard rock and rap. I lost count of the times he said sh** and he said fu** a couple times and flipped off the camera . I don't care personally, but I do know it's supposed to be family friendly and he was pretty arrogant about it and knew he wasn't supposed to say it, so he got the whole crowd to say fu** on the count of 3. Was pro America and first responders, but still kind of a ****** in my opinion.

I seriously doubt HLSR cares as long as they can bring in a great crowd. Remember they brought Cardi B a few years back? Do they really expect these artists to not curse or do non-family friendly stuff?

On a Saturday they want it to be family friendly for sure because of the earlier showtime. Week nights I think they're a little more forgiving. That's said, sounds like I'm glad I didn't take my niece and nephew yesterday like we had been thinking about doing.

I also think the act itself has a lot to do with it.

Cardi B, 50 cent, etc there's an expectation that yeah it's gonna be a bit explicit.

Not sure if that's typical of a Hardy concert but I would guess he caught a lot of people off guard.

And as far as music goes I think it was a Billy Joe Shaver who said 'You call it country...I call it bad rock n roll'.

The Chronicle review said he went for 80 minutes which is long for a rodeo show.

No way it was 80 minutes. Seemed shorter than most shows.

According to my pics, his first song started at 9:18. His last song started at 10:28. I guess the show seemed longer because it ended later than usual. By the time you get it out the stadium, it's almost 11

He shouldn't have caught anyone off guard. He's had multiple songs on the rock billboard charts. He leans way more rock than country and his songs have f bombs in most of the heavy stuff.

One would think the rodeo knew exactly what they were getting with hardy but then again they also booked a coffee house acoustic trio to headline on Tuesday…

My daughter said that he encouraged the whole crowd to drop the f bomb with him all as once so they could all get in trouble... grade school if you ask me.

I believe it was the Geezinslaws who made the song popular quite a while back...

No...we went to the Rodeo yesterday just to hangout with friends at the wine garden, and before leaving the house we googled his songs to see if we wanted to try to find tickets.....I almost threw my Alexa out the window since the dumb b*tch couldnt turn off fast enough. Horrible music.

Obviously in the minority here but I thought he put on a good show! Lots of energy and folks around us seemed to enjoy it as well. My kids loved it and neither said it when he encouraged the crowd too, both just looked at me. I know both have used it when they think no adult is listening but they know there is a time and place.

I would suggest, if you're that offended by the F bomb these days, probably a good idea not to attend large gatherings. Kyle Field, Rodeos in general, MMP, etc. Hell, the F bomb was dropped multiple times just trying to get into the stadium... and only a few times by me!! Damn sure don't have your kids in an Ag barn or locker room!

It is possible to enjoy something while not agreeing with every little part of it.

I agree that we live a broken world and you are going to hear foul language wherever you go (i.e. the church parking lot or any sporting event), but HLSR is marketed as a family friendly event and it as been well known that they ask the artists to sign contracts that includes that they will perform and behave in such manner. So people and families buy season tickets and individual tickets for events that they expect to be PG / PG13 and then the entertainer (Hardy) even states that he is not supposed to cuss, then invites the entire stadium to join him. If anything, it speaks to his lack of maturity and that is going to only take him so far.

have you watched much pg-13 TV these days? saying the F-bomb is pretty mild compared to what is shown.

and in response to what I bolded that is also part of his act if you will. Playing up the DGAF rock star mantra. meh. I'd rather have my kids hear a few f bombs then have them watch some black rapper talk about her WAP and dance like a stripper on stage. to each their own.

It's worked out well for him so far. He's won a bunch of awards and sold a bunch of albums. I don't really care for him, but obviously a lot of people do.
