That being said, I can't imagine the constant pressure of knowing that you are grossly incompetent and completely unfit for the position you hold...which is a very high profile and important job that impacts millions of people. Not being ready for the big stage and all of the cameras, and knowing it. She has to know that she is an inexperienced little girl who has no business managing an HEB, much less one of the largest counties in the country. I could see how the weight of that could drive someone to addiction or mental illness.

I hope she gets the help she needs, then goes back to Colombia for good.

Purely from the gossip/rumor mill, but heard this is latest leave is just another rehab stint for her, supposedly for adderall addiction. I always thought she seemed jacked up in a couple press conferences and at least one court session when she melted down cussing out the other commissioners, but no idea what the truth is. I haven't known many addicts who were exclusive to one solution for their "anxiety."

Adderall seems like a horrible treatment for anxiety. I have taken it here and there in the past and always hated that nagging "comedown" feeling hours later. if anything, it made me feel more anxious.

I have known two adderall addicts in recent years, and with one buddy of mine (successful dude but always kind of a meathead), his "rock bottom" was getting pinched for meeting up with someone at a shopping center parking lot and holding them up for all of their pills at gunpoint (unloaded, but still). Apparently he would get extremely depressed, tired and unproductive without it...and also crazy.

The stuff used to be everywhere, but in recent years seems like there's been a drought...there was even a thread on here about how hard it was to get filled even with legit prescription. I would like to know if Lina was just prescribed a really high amount or if she was obtaining illegally. And you are right...usually it's a yo yo thing with adderall addiction...most addicts need to have something to bring them back down.

this is common with anyone who has a valid prescription and takes it on a daily basis.

True...but especially extreme if they are taking a crazy amount that doc would never prescribe. His brain wasn't right for a while. I'm just glad he's healthy and sane now and didn't cross over to meth.
