For some odd reason, it seems that the guys pouring asphalt in the heat of summer never call in "depressed." It's almost as if depression is a luxury that only affects the rich and/or powerful to such an extent that they cannot do their job...

Hopefully, she won't be getting paid while she is voluntarily not working. And I hope she has to cover the costs of her care out-of-pocket since she's choosing a luxury out-of-state treatment center.

I'm betting her challenger, who had military experience, wouldn't call in "depressed" because someone hurt her feelings or because life is such an unbearable burden.

exactly, she can't handle the day to day but call her if there's a real emergency.

I believe A&M's president resigned pretty soon after they received an incriminating public information request that the school knew they couldn't deny, but before the info was actually released. I wonder if something really bad is about to happen for Hidalgo and it will be very convenient to be somewhere where she can't be easily reached by reporters or DAs. It would be inconvenient for Ogg to have to extradite Hidalgo from a different state if she was taking money under the table or something like that.

So your staff was all indicted over a year ago for pretty obvious criminal behavior and you have somehow managed to avoid it - so far - but you still could be indicted and it could be around the corner. I guess that would be depressing.

To be fair, those guys don't have quite as many eyes on them when they're high, drunk, or hungover at press conferences and public meetings. She can call it "clinical depression," but that's just rich girl-speak for "getting ****ed up a little too often lately."

It's not the first "leave" she's taken, and probably won't be the last. Remember when she lied about being with her sick grandfather in Columbia, then dipped out for 10 days in Thailand? I've crunched the numbers, and I can say with 99 point one hundred and seven percent confidence that this is substance related.
