La Lucha. Menu modeled after the old San Jacinto Inn. Old Ags May remember that place. Fantastic oysters and fried chicken. Casual place, but make a reservation. Gigem!

N Shepherd in that area is such a beatdown. I imagine a lot of their customers are avoiding the area for the same reason.htxag09 said:

That's the typical sentiment. So we just laughed and said give us our check (we were still drinking outside) and left. There were no signs posted saying no cigars or anything like that.Ryan the Temp said:I'd rather smell a cigar than a cigarette.Irish 2.0 said:

The aroma of a good cigar makes me miss my dad.
Cigars are so much more potent. I would never complain, but I hardly notice a few people smoking cigs outdoors at a table near me. The other night we were watching fireworks and a dude was like 20 ft away from us and the wind from the south was blowing the smoke straight towards us to the point it was constant and obnoxious. If several dudes are smoking cigars at a table in a small outdoor patio area, it's almost impossible to escape, and way more pungent/potent than cigs imo. And I like the smell of them when i'm smoking them or smelling them from a distance.Ryan the Temp said:I'd rather smell a cigar than a cigarette.Irish 2.0 said:

I get a group of cigars being an issue. When I light up on bar patios and am the only one smoking one, I get complemented quite often on how good it smells and how they wish cigs smelled that good.Brittmoore Car Club said:Cigars are so much more potent. Just saying... can see why they would bother customers of some places more than cigs.
I'm the other way around. Cigars are just terrible IMO, heavy pungent smoke that doesn't go away for a long time and sticks to you if you are around it.Ryan the Temp said:I'd rather smell a cigar than a cigarette.Irish 2.0 said:

To be fair, I don't think any of these posts are necessarily directed to you. I'd wager most agree with you, that if a restaurant patio allows cigarettes, they should allow cigars. If not, it should be posted.Irish 2.0 said:Brittmoore Car Club said:Cigars are so much more potent. I would never complain, but I hardly notice a few people smoking cigs outdoors at a table near me. Then don't have smoking at all. Or if you're not going to have cigar smoking, post a sign so I don't light a $15 stick thinking all is well.
My mom was a cigarette smoker and dad smoked cigars and a pipe. I always found the cigarette smoke made ME smell worse than dad's cigars.schmellba99 said:I'm the other way around. Cigs aren't great, but tolerable to me.
Give me a good tobacco pipe over all of them.
you really thought it was okay to fire up cigars on a restaurant patio?Irish 2.0 said:

Yeah I find cigar smoke to be way more strong/offensive than cigarette smoke. And cigar smokers are generally more obnoxious about it imo. Obviously not talking about you specifically.

Agreed. Also, I think society needs a healthy dose of "tough sh**". If you don't like cigar/cig smoke, don't sit outside where people can smoke cigars/cigs.Irish 2.0 said:Brittmoore Car Club said:Cigars are so much more potent. I'll have to check this out. I love a good cigar on occasion. I can almost only smoke them with a good bourbon or scotch in the other hand though.Irish 2.0 said:
I've been smoking cigars since I was 12. I understand it isn't for everyone and I'm well aware that the smoke of cigars creates a much different setting. It's a heavier smoke.
Most people here know, so I don't mind "outing" myself, but I'm one of the owners of Nice Ash. We understand that which is why we created a business for people.
But there were two other people outside smoking cigarettes. No one was eating. We were in their smoking area. If you want to add an asterisks for no cigars. That's fine. We would've respected it. We're not obnoxious cigar people. It's just the way they came at us. Put it out or leave. Fine. We left. We had every intention of sitting on the patio, enjoying our cigars, and ordering more drinks.
