I have a 5am flight Saturday. Someone told me not all the terminals are open 24/7. From looking online, looks like terminal A would be the only one open at 330.

Anyone have experience with this?

Will have to check luggage, so using the 40 min rule, at the latest I'd have to be dropping luggage at 420.

Terminal C doesn't open until 4:45 or something like that. We had a 5 am flight out of C back in November. We get to the check in counters at 4:20 only to find that all self check-machines are off and not an employee to be found. At 4:45 they all turned on, baggage belts started whirring and employees came out of the woodwork.

I flew in on Emirates early Jan and while the drop off/departures was no issue at all, pick up/arrivals was a total shi*show.

Also did an Emirates pick up in Feb and still a shi*show. If you miss your pick up person the first loop around you're gonna wait another 30-40mins before you circle back again.

I have always parked at the Parking Spot on JFK and have never had an issue getting in or out of IAH

Update: 345 was a complete s*** show. United couldn't give me a straight answer. Gate moved all over the place, ended up at terminal c. Went to a because it was only one open before 4. Get there, no United checkin available, signs indicated and was told to go to b. Take the underground Johnny cab train to b. Get to b and not a soul is in there. Found a tsa agent who told be b doesn't open till 5. So we get back on the Johnny cab and go to c. By the time we get there, the bag check line is probably 200 people long because it's the only place you can check United in the whole airport. Got back checked right at the cutoff, went through security and basically walked up at the time of boarding.

TLDR - don't take a 5am flight.

Have 6:25am flight Friday out of Terminal C.

How is garage parking lately? Still construction delays?

Left last Friday on a 7:30 am flight out of C and returned tonight at 5:30 pm to E. Parked at JFK EcoPark. Didn't experience any major trffic delays.

Garage parking is tight. Make reservations. They were only taking reservations in A/B this weekend.

Granted it was memorial day week, but we had a reservation at A/B and were lucky to find a spot that wasn't on the roof. Like 2 or 3 spots, max, on most floors.

Have heard of some people waiting forever for shuttles.....

Yep, that part sucks on arrival. Happened to me during pandemic, seems better lately.

The part I can't stand is having a reservation for terminal parking but not being able to find a spot - it ratchets up the stress level at departure time. Do not like.

Nearly happened to us a few weekends ago, got lucky and found a spot on the second floor I tried.

The roof had plenty of spots, though....I just didn't want to leave my car on the roof for 7 days since I was paying for a garage....

I started saying **** it and just getting an uber to the airport recently.

If IAH traffic and parking weren't bad enough...

"Unexpected issues" to the air conditioning system at @iah are causing temperatures to surpass 80 degrees in some terminals.

The airport said the issue WILL NOT be fixed today.

My wife flew out this morning and the pilot got on as they were getting ready to take off basically saying lucky them, the ac in the airport just broke

Just flew back from AUS on Saturday and outside of the United club it was hot as balls in the airport as well. What a coincidence that two dip**** county governments can't get the basic infrastructure **** figured out. But hey bike paths for the spandex mafia and trees and ****, right?

Guess I better figure out parking.

Use B, tram or subway over to E. Don't do the C/E mess at all.

Flew out of A today. No parking at terminal without a reservation, barely any spots at the surface lots. Fairly long security line even with Pre Check.

Saw Ted Cruz coming back to Houston from somewhere. I guess Ercot must be in ok shape.

Garages are full as is Ecopark2. Reserve parking online.

edit: why the hell doesn't ecopark drop off at D closest to the suggested bag drop shortcut?

Subway is outside security. Sky train is after security. You don't even want to have off-site parking buses drop you at C/E - it's awful. Just go through B.

I've been to IAH every other week all year and C has been fine, 10-15 min all in with pre check and I just park offsite and shuttle in

That being said, I never check a bag so that may be a complete cluster
