I'm not a BBQ snob but I work near there and it's good. Maybe between Pinkerton's & Truth in my book.NoahAg said:

backstreet shouldn't be on the list... all over the place for a while nowhtxag09 said:
Nancy's hustle is 17. Not a fan of Georgia James but am surprised it isn't on the list.
To me the biggest misses are backstreet, uchi, hugos, and I'll say tiny champions even though I haven't been because I've heard so many good things by people I trust for food recos
Really? I think Be More Pacific is great. Admittedly, I don't have much experience with Filipino food from anywhere else but have always had good food there.htxag09 said:
Probably the biggest wtf for me. Be more pacific even being on there was also a head scratcher

I'm going back tonight for a birthday dinner so they get another chance.CowtownAg06 said:
That surprises me about Sofia. I've only been once at lunch and thought it was definitely in the top 100. I've heard other people have some bad experiences too, so maybe they are just really inconsistent.
Heights wise, I was also glad to see Maison Pucha make it. I feel like that place is really underrated. Field and Tides is another one I enjoy and would have thought it was in the running.
Well, it's Alison Cook, sooo..... Her reviews have always seemed like more foodie/scenester opinions than pure food critic. She seems to base a lot on how much she likes the owners, atmosphere, and how important they make her feel. Very different than a lot of traditional critics who tried to slip in like normal customers.htxag09 said:
Almost as if they just went out of their way to make it diverse or to include friends, etc.
Not to mention the fact a restaurant owner's politics impact her opinion of a place.Harry Lime said:Well, it's Alison Cook, sooo..... But I can understand why they try to find new places and not just write up the same "celebrity" chefs/owners over and over.

Alison Cook wrote a story about how they did this year's list. Says it was a team effort and they (well, The Chronicle) paid for their own meals. The Chronicle's budget could explain their choice of restaurants.
Others here disagree, but Gatlin's is the worst BBQ I've ever eaten.StEdsCOOG said:
I can't imagine all 10 BBQ joints on that list are better than Pinkerton's. I know damn well Feges isn't.

Harlem rd shouldn't even sniff that list. Pit room, feges, Texas chocolate, gatlins, pinks, truth, killeens, all blow them out of the water.

if you ever saw Alison Cook in the wild and saw how she acts inside restaurants, you'd realize what kind of list this is
