Just came back from a C&D trip and saw a jogger in the bike lane.

We were all wrong about them being used.

If y'all want I'll work up a form letter apology and we can all email our civic leaders.

So glad my truck has higher clearance to get over the barricades!

This cluster**** of a project has exemplified how terrible houston drivers are….

When they added those funky curbs at memorial park in front of the pool I watched people trying to park inside them for weeks. One person almost hitting me as I was running and proceeding to roll their window down telling me to get off the road. I pointed to the sign literally right above my head saying no parking.

What do yall think this project has done to home values on 11th?

Possibly ****ed a few commercial buildings more than anything along 11th. If people start taking the side streets directly off 11th (10th & 12th) excessively I could see that causing a raucous.

I still need to head out that way and see this debacle.

Trying to catch up on work today, but if I can get enough done, I'll take the mountain bike for a cruise and check out the fustercluck. Good motivation to get work done. Already skipped my morning ride for work today.

It finally happened, I was happy to see the C Group leaving the main lanes for cars to use.

You missed the part where they blew through the lights, flipping off motorists with impunity

These must have been newbies cause they stopped at the right light @ Shepherd. I pulled out right on front of them to avoid getting stuck on their tail but once they stopped I did a u turn at Hando so that I could see if they were using the fancy new bike lane.

Are bikers still using the Heights bike lanes on weekend mornings or have the bus platforms caused them to go somewhere else?

Would they have an imminent domain claim since the city took their access without compensation?

I have no idea.

Unless they have deeper pockets than I assume or have someone willing to do pro-bono, it sounds like they probably can't afford to fight the city for that. But if they are closing after a couple months of business being affected, I doubt they have the resources to file a lawsuit.

Looks like they opted to relocate instead of shut down.

I posted the below sarcastic comment about how "transparent" governments are about their plans on another Houston board, and surprisingly a few of the folks this comment was aimed at actually hit the heart button and "Loved" my post as if I was serious.

I've been avoiding 11th street since this mess started. However, went to Loro at 5:15 yesterday and gotta say it wasn't bad at all. Traffic was moving, the curb cut outs were plenty but to get in and out of parking lots, etc. now, with the single lane I definitely could see how issues arise with moving, delivery trucks, etc.

And Loro was at capacity w/ a wait from basically 5:30 on, so don't think it's hurting them too much.

Did we ever find out what people are supposed to do w/ garbage cans? I've seen several on the curb but this morning there were about 10 black/green bins in the bike lane around Nicholson.

I saw a girl turning left onto 11th off of Dorothy the other morning and she gave 0 Fs pulling slowly across 11th blocking the westbound traffic until she carefully squeezed through the walkway.

There was a dude biking this morning in shorts wearing a full hiking backpack. Folks are crazy.

Last question, I treat the westbound section between Dorothy & Shepherd as two lanes since there's no bike lane there (painted nor curbed) but there's also no lane markers; AITA?

Everyone properly positioning two vehicles to cross Shepherd westbound on 11th is a damn hero.

That was my biggest gripe about the project was not having two clear lanes from Dorothy on to maximize westbound traffic flow.

As for the idiots messing up their cars on the curbs I do feel bad for them but they should probably pay more attention to the road than their phone. I think the curbs are unnecessary but personal responsibility still matters.
