In all honesty, while a lot of these girls looked really good, the didn't strike me as the kind you really want to date.
You don't pay to date them, you pay for them to leave.

So I haven't been since i was a kid and we are thinking about taking our kids to the grounds. How ridiculous is it during the day for a family around the carnival and livestock show on a weekday?

Not too bad. Mid day will be crowded and then it will die down before the evening rush for the Rodeo. Yesterday they had a new first Saturday record attendance with 136,600 come through the gates. Today is Go Tejano day, so it will be pushing that much again.

if a person wanted to watch rodeo, but not concert, are there just day tickets for day events? I feel like I should know this but I dont. I enjoy the livestock shows and the rodeo events, but no desire to stay for concert.

The Rodeo and concert in NRG stadium is a separate ticket. You can buy a ground's ticket to the livestock show and everything in the Arena and the NRG center is included in that ticket, so horse shows, cattle, swine, poultry, etc… is all part of the grounds ticket. Carnival rides and games are all pay as you go.

Nm, question already answered.

I'll add this, the carnival is fun but $$$$

Yea we were thinking about heading up at like 0900 and going until kids die of exhaustion so we will get a nice peaceful ride home.

They have been broadcasting the rodeo events on Bally's Sports each night. At least they did last week.

I believe it. Last night walking through the carnival was the thickest crowd I've been in in a very long time. The Hideout was packed as soon as John Pardi let out.

Tejano Day is always a record setter; not wildly enthusiastic about the shift today.

Think about volunteering for next year. You get a gold badge that can get you in to watch the rodeo. Or there are also volunteer clubs around that you can watch it from the club on the live feed. I did that Friday when I had no desire to go see Ricky Martin.

talmbout. There's a bunch of great free exhibits for kids, give them something sugary around 11:00, ride or two at the carnival and you're on the highway with a wife screwing around on her phone riding shotgun, sleeping/zonked out kids in the back while you're one hand on the wheel, one hand teen-wolfing a turkey leg or carney stick-meat.

I would love to, just not sure my job has the flexibility for it right now.

You could do a sales committee, something like souvenir programs or an auction committee. It doesn't become about hours worked, but money raised, and you can do that on your own time off from work. Or join one of the committees that do all their work throughout the year instead of just in March. There is usually a committee for anyones schedule, it's just a matter of finding the right fit for what works for you.

When did this cowgirl hooker look come into fashion? Girls ages 20-25 in short leather skirts, revealing tops, and tall cowboy boots everywhere.
I know what you mean now that I was finally there for a nice weather night. Enjoyed the eye candy, for the most part. We were talking about it during the shift today with guys who have worked at the rodeo for years and grew up going, and everyone seemed to agree there definitely seem to be some new fashion trends. We used to have to go really classy joints to see girls dressed like that.

Whats up with these hip hugging flared/bell bottom jeans the ladies are wearing?? IMHO, very unflattering on 95% of them.

Going Sunday. Whats the best place to park? Can you buy the ground tickets there the day of? What are some of the best things to do before the rodeo starts? I have never been.

This is literally the worst thing to happen to the rodeo this year.

This has been creeping into the country wardrobe over the past few years. I think the actual country people have moved on to a new style and the cityfied wannabes are picking up on the trend.

Anyone have a spare ticket or two for Journey on 3/10? My niece is in the calf scramble that night and my parents want to go watch her. They're not interested in paying $200/ticket, but will take cheap leftovers if anyone has them.

Park at Astroworld. Yes you can buy grounds tickets the day of, but if you have tickets to the show you don't need them.

As far as events, it depends on what day you go. There is always something going on in the arena and the center.

My wife went last night with her gal friends and they hit up Trill Burger, as suggested by a friend. She said it was absolutely amazing and up there on the list of best burgers she's had. After looking it up this morning, she found out it's owned by Bun B.

She said it's next to Freebirds under the big white dinning tent area, closer to the wine garden. I'll have to hit it up when I finally get a chance to head up there.

So brutal. A gal with a nice azz looks best in Wranglers or skinny jeans. I'm betting there were a lot of flare jeans at last night's show and will definitely be a bunch on Saturday.

It's like the 2nd stand when you walk in the first food tent. Haven't had it yet, but everyone I know who has said the same thing, so will have to try it soon

Probably the best sound I can remember at a rodeo concert. Maybe it was the seats, but usually the sound is horrible and Journey was near perfect.
