The part of Dora's tweet that stands out the most to me was the helpless part - WE WERE NOT HELPLESS. Personal responsibility is a key component to managing any type of exposure.

The helpless narrative is what the Liberals feed on and spread with their fear porn. This is the same crap they are selling minorities - you are helpless and even though it was our past policies that marginalized you, we will demonize another group and now take care of you.

Yup, typical progressives.

Keep feeding them propaganda that they are helpless and only the gov't can help them.

A local employer here with 400 employees had 50 positives...so they sent the rest of their 350 employees to the ERs and hospitals to get tested. This is the kind of stupidity we are dealing with. This is why we have doctors and nurses quitting. This is the kind of sh-t Dora is causing with her constant "Code Red" pronouncements. This is why people can't get care for real problems. I'm done f-cking around with this.

I'm shocked at the speed that all this went down.

We coming up on 2-years from the very first trickle of covid 19 news coming out of china.

Nobody knew what it was at the time, and we all assumed it would be like SARS or some type of flu, and it would run its course.

You go back to the first pages of his thread and that was the general consensus.

But thats not what happened.

There was so much money being thrown around during the early days of covid,

We overreacted. It was self perpetuating hysteria. People walking around HEB in a homemade space suit. We all lived through it. People went absolutely BSC. And even people who traditionally demonstrated good judgment.

We should have given hospitals resources to deal with the sick, and let covid run its course.

Tell people to try and get healthier. Address known covid risks, vitamin D, obesity, etc., and utilize existing therapies. Have a variety of covid treatments immediately available if you get it, try to deal with it early if you can.

The obsession over testing has got to taper off.

The vaccine has got to become am extension of the flu shot for people that want it.

Covid is gonna have to be treated exactly like the flu.

The faster we move in that direction, the better.
People are still doubling down and going BSC. I almost understand those extra cautious back in May of 2020. Maybe even December of 2020 before vaccines, just waiting until then. If you were higher risk. Sure. 95% of people should still have lived life 100% as normal in December of 2020.

I cannot imagine a single person now who took the vaccine(we all know those who didn't would act normal anyways) and didn't say f*** it, it's time to live life as normal again. Meaning no rules, mitigation, no masks, no treating it any differently than if you got the flu in 2017. I cannot understand these people.

What you are saying is 100% obvious. The question is, what % of the population realizes that now? Maybe 50%? If we are lucky?

I've said it before but it's worth being repeated.

The thing that really disturbs me the most about all of this is how quickly massive portions of the population immediately abandon all reason and rational analysis. They immediately went to eleventy on the fear and and hysteria. And part of it all was a complete abandonment of any sort of personal responsibility, self-reliance, or live & let live ethos- it immediately went to "govern me harder daddy." There is a huge percentage of the population who wants, maybe even craves, what they perceive as a somewhat benevolent authoritarian (well, benevolent if you agree with them) regime which controls virtually everything and if you just go along with their absurd canards you'll be just copacetic. But if you dare move out of lockstep everything about your life is attacked- not just social media but your family, your home, your livelihood, and your very individuality.

Y'all may think it's hyperbole and couldn't happen here but if the **** going on in Australia or these bastions of "progressive" authoritarians on the East & West Coast can't spread wholesale here you're whistling past the graveyard. The fact Dora hasn't been ridden out of town on a rail is proof of this.

God warned the Israelites they didn't want a King. Israelites demanded a king. Then they regretted having many kings. It is funny how life proves how many of the tales in the bible are much more reasonable then just a first read might suggest.

I definitely don't disagree. I think we are a ways away from Australia in that no one anywhere was ever locked away in their home in the US(that I know of, at least not in Texas), but if the wrong people get elected in the next few, could be closer to them than we all would want to realize soon enough

This is correct but it's pretty clear there are tons of people here in the USA who are perfectly fine with this.

We're about a generation away from Australia. In my office, which has no vax mandate or any other Covid protocols, the mid 20's-mid 30 somethings are the only ones who mask up or discuss getting boosters.

The healthiest ones are also doing things they don't need or are required to do. They'll be the same ones who will push this lunacy on their fellow citizens.

The vindication feels good for sure. But it's meaningless without the government and all the Branch Covidians accepting these facts which we skeptics have known all along.

They've changed the narrative on vaccines.

We've gone from 'highly effective' to 'reasonably effective' in a very short amount of time.

Pfizer's CEO actually said:

Quote:

The hope is that we will achieve something that will have way, way better protection, particularly against infections because the protection against the hospitalizations and the severe disease, it is, it is reasonable right now, with the current vaccines as long as you are having let's say the third dose.

"Reasonable" right now (note he won't say for how long), but only if you have a third dose. The third dose has never been tested against a placebo, there's no trial data on efficacy, there's no information on rates of side effects that increased substantially from dose 1 to dose 2. Nothing was ever done to study its effect on the current variant that is much less likely to cause hospitalization or severe disease anyway. Science, my ass.

European regulators are already recommending against boosters.

The audacity of these people. There's piles and piles of documentation coming out showing how the covidians among the elected officials, bureaucrats, and media have colluded to squash real data and how they've put forth all kinds of misinformation and legitimate doctors and researchers who pose questions and present data contrary to their approved narrative and they want to censor others.

Perhaps if they hadn't lied their freaking asses off and communicated better we might believe them.

That's yet another narrative that has changed in the past 2-days.

Now the MSM is pushing N-95 masks made by 3M with some sort of ISO seal of approval.

These people just can't help themselves? I cannot understand the end game with maskers? N95s are so impractical, and have already failed in Germany and a couple of other countries with regards to spread anyways. Just amazes me how data illiterate these people are. Even if masking worked, I still can't understand those that think it's better for society.

It's almost like it's the crowd that was born a bit anti social, and feel safe behind it. Or just became so indocrinated with regards to masking they have literally forgotten what life was life before masks. A normal, mentally healthy individual that is accepting of reasonable risk/reward vs absolute risk zero at all costs, that wants to socially interact with human beings the way that was inborn in us want nothing to do with masking. Maskers are a cult, and a weird group of people.

I think it's actually pretty simple. Most of these people's lives generally have no purpose, outside of complaining about politics on twitter. Wearing a mask gives them a badge of honor and an internal sense of superiority over people who don't wear them, that they can then internet high five other people who share the same absurd viewpoint.
