Sometimes I really wonder how people who are C-suite executives got there. Especially when they send emails like this. Keep in mind they instituted a corporate vaccine mandate and made very clear that anybody who chose to not get vaccinated and was unable to secure a medical waiver (which in most cases would be considered temporary- such as those with recent infections who needed to wait to get the vaxx) would be considered voluntarily separated and would lose any unvested stock or outstanding bonuses. The threat of that financial loss is why I got the shot despite having naturally acquired immunity via a prior infection.

Which I think is why you get the lawyer speak previously mentioned and crazy dumb policies. It's hard to prove you caught it at work. But, say every single person in one team in close contact in your plant got it. That makes it a little easier to prove. And that many recordables can ruin your year. Not worth the risk

Insurance companies are gonna have to come up with some workers comp like legal regime to deal with covid risk.
You cant sue your employer, but if there is a covid outbreak at work, then you go under workers comp.
And also the states and federal government limit available actions for covid, generally.
Something like this is gonna have to happen.
The fact that it hasn't happened already should tell you something.
We have to assume the risk as individuals. Covid is not going away.

We should have given hospitals resources to deal with the sick, and let covid run its course.
Tell people to try and get healthier. Address known covid risks, vitamin D, obesity, etc., and utilize existing therapies. Have a variety of covid treatments immediately available if you get it, try to deal with it early if you can.

The vaccine has got to become am extension of the flu shot for people that want it.
Covid is gonna have to be treated exactly like the flu.

Had this exact conversation at work yesterday with someone who thinks OSHA mandating vaccines is a great idea that's well within the purview of OSHA's responsibilities.
