Yeah Nordstrom's is a great option. Hugo boss, hickey freeman and other top tier suits... plus it's all about the fit/tailor. Nordstrom has always done well

I'd steer clear of the big name brands. Smaller places like Rye 51, Sid Mashburn, or to a lesser extent Billy Reid is going to give you much nicer fabric and more personalized experience than Nordstrom and especially Brooks Brothers. If you can go to Dallas I'd recommend Alton Lane as well. Its made specifically for you. Have a suit from there for $1400 and comparable to what I've seen listed at $3k in big stores.

I work with a couple of guys who've worked several international assignments. And their recommendation is Buy a cheap rountrip ticket to Turkey and get fitted for a couple of 3 piece suits.

If you don't need it now just wait until Raj the tailor comes into town and he'll fit you for a custom suit for about half your budget.

You pick the fabric from the multiple books he brings, he measures you, you pay 1/2, and your suit is shipped to you in a couple months when you pay the remaining 1/2.

Someone on here gave me his info and I get loaded up on dress shirts every time he comes (about every 6 months).

Been a few years since bought my last suit because we went business casual at work, but bought all my suits at Ralph Lauren in the Galleria. Bought the black label suits and they were pushing high side of your range. Classic fit as I still wear them years later. Also, they have a great tailor. The key to any suit is having it fit correctly and that requires a great tailor. Not sure of your build, but make sure where ever you buy will tailor it correctly. Can spend a lot of money and look bad if not tailored correctly. Always got great comments on my suits.
