That looks like they tried way too hard to make a burger refined. Bun doesn't look right, the spinach or turnips or whatever greens are on it look like it should be in a salad. No tomato, patty is significantly smaller than bun. No mustard or mayo between bread and patty. Looks like it has pickles, which only communists and heathens put on burgers. Fries look oversized and under cooked.

In short, needs work on presentation.

I'm gonna go with benefit of the doubt here and say it was perhaps just ordered the way Allison Cook likes her burgers. Either way I can order mine how I like I'd hope.

Only 30 mins to the woodlands, right?
You misspelled "the exit to Sienna".

Fortunately, the Ft. Bend Toll is sparsely used. Should be renamed the Autobahn.
Actually it dead ends into Sienna Parkway inside the subdivision with developments bordering it to the south and apartments to the north.

And I wish it was sparsely used in the mornings and the evenings, you would have a different opinion if you came during transit hours.

Enough of this, back to burgers.

Has anyone mentioned the burgers at Cottonwood? I haven't tried this bad boy yet, but finished my son's "Plain Jane" cheeseburger last night and it was great. Great bun, flavored patty, fresh cut fries. Can't wait to go back and get this one.

This one looks really good, may have to try it. Thanks for the heads up.

College Station burger brand inks new leases, including one in former Jerry Built location

Grub Burger Bar currently has two locations in the greater Houston area, but soon it will have another, according to a press release.

The College Station-based brand signed a roughly 3,700-square-foot lease at 10403 Katy Freeway, suite 100, the former location of Jerry Built Homegrown Burgers, per the release. The brand plans to move its current Houston restaurant at 799 Town and Country Blvd. to this new location, which will reopen in August.

Houston-based Jerry Built Homegrown Burgers closed its two remaining locations in May 2017. The Memorial-area location that Grub Burger Bar is moving into had only been open for one year, but the other in West University had been open for five years.

Additionally, Grub Burger Bar inked a 4,000-square-foot lease at Katy Green, a 16-acre retail development in the Energy Corridor on Interstate 10 at Greenhouse Road, according to a press release. The restaurant is expected to open in early 2019 in the first-generation space, which is part of an expansion of Katy Green, per the release. Houston-based Wile Interests Inc. is the developer.

Anderson Smith and Connor Lynch of Houston-based Capital Retail Properties represented Grub Burger Bar in the leases, and the brokerage has been working with the concept since 2014 to expand along the Gulf Coast, per the release.

Known for its burgers and spiked milkshakes, Grub Burger Bar also has a location in The Woodlands, at 2417 Research Forest Drive, suite A, per its website. The concept started in 2012 and has grown to over 20 stores across the U.S.

Hence hamburger steak.

WTF is a hamburger steak. It goes in direction...from whole beef, grinder, Patty...burger. You can't process it and return it later to what it came from. Nonsense.

In all seriousness that is exactly what we are saying. That when you say the word hamburger you are talking about ground meat. Not the sandwich, not the bun. The "hamburger" is the ground meat patty. Thus our final assertion that while a Patty Melt is definitely it's own thing, it is still in essence a hamburger, but simply a subcategory thereof.

A hamburger steak is a hamburger patty covered in brown gravy and sauted onions. It's available at Luby's and other general American cafeteria and cafe style restaurants. Look for it next time you go to someplace like Denny's.

According to the Wiki on Hamburg steak...

There is a distinction between the terms Hamburg steak and hamburger: The former refers to just a beef patty made a certain way, while the hamburger is a sandwich-like dish comprising the patty, buns and other ingredients.

This is in line with my preferences. Jerry built was WORTHLESS. Grub is not bad at all and this new location is directly across I-10 from my house.

-I- am more credible than wiki.

So when you order pizza do you say "I'd like my pizza with pineapple and crumbled hamburger patty on it please?" Or do you just say "pineapple and hamburger?"

One refers to the meat itself as being "hamburger" the other references the "hamburger" as being a sandwich with bun and other ingredients included."

I ended up taking your advice and I went to M&M. Overall the burger was good, but I should've went with a simple cheeseburger instead of the super cheeseburger or whatever it was called. It had fried jalapeo slices and onion strings on it with a little ranch dressing on it. While it was good I felt like it somewhat overpowered the meat, which by itself was very good and didn't need the extra flare imo.... and yes I was the only American in the place which added to the experience.

I used to really like armadillos burgers. But after their renovation and menu overhaul they aren't the same. I'm sure their fancy stuff is better, but their burgers got worse.
