. Their jobs are to find the truth. That's what Miya was trying to do.
The local media is not out to "get" people for "ratings." Most journalists I worked with were out to get the true story, the great interviews and be fair.
And, I worked as a journalist for nearly 20 years.
Lol
You don't need to work in media for 20 years or even 20 seconds to understand how the typical media interview works.
It's almost always the Reporter asking some obviously inflammatory question, followed by someone with a real job answering with logic - which the Reporter completely ignores & follows up by rephrasing the same damn original question.
Perfect example a couple of weeks ago during the storm. Reporter was giddy about interviewing some Texas republican politician who had previously voted against federal assistance for disasters. Went like this:
Dopey Rabid Reporter: "After seeing the devastation to your own state, do you now regret voting against federal assistance for victims of these disasters?".
Politician: "No, I made it clear that I was all for federal support in those situations, but unfortunately that bill had a great deal of things attached to it that had nothing to do with the issue and which I did not support, such as {proceeded to rattle of at least half a dozen loony lib nonsense pork}".
DRR: "Isn't it true that the bill contained almost no pork and you voted against helping people?".
P: "Well, no, I just listed numerous examples of items attached to that bill that were completely unrelated & unnecessary".
DRR: "Now that you've seen the devastation to Houston - which is in your own state - don't you regret voting against a bill that would have helped them?"
And on & on.
