Couple days of work around the house then leaving for Vieques for a week... Pulled out my work horse, low key travel, beach/sailing watch for the first time in a longtime.
Pretty cool pic I got from one of my clients. One of his buddies works on an oil rig and they sent a deepsea down 6k feet on an unmanned sub.
Maybe someday you'll be able to take a ride down there with your client.

Yeah manned missions are upcoming. They will even have a hole you can stick your hand out to test your watch. It's a startup. SeaGate or something along those lines.

This is how things will likely play out:
1) Immediately, all NEW Rolex models go up on the secondary market in accordance with their new retail price
2) Rolex increases production and floods their authorized dealers with inventory
3) The ADs don't have enough demand and begin to dump to dealers on the secondary market (dealers can buy 10+ watches at a time and the ADs will offer it to them below MSRP which is something they won't do for the general public)
**Keep in mind the ADs cost is about 35-37% off the MSRP price and almost all of them aren't interested in keeping their stores stocked investing millions into Rolex inventory, they want to pre-sell their watches even if it means less profit per watch (they want volume).
4) We will see most models trade at or below MSRP and eventually you will get a better deal with your grey market dealer vs the Rolex store
Final Point:
This is good for the end user because if you have deep pockets you can soon have your pick at any watch at the Rolex store without playing the waiting game

Jk. Rolex raises prices every year so this is nothing new. This would only help me. The hesitation of people buying Rolex, patek, etc from grey market is that a lot of the prices are too far from msrp. The closer they get to each other the more competitive I can be in that sense.

FTAC, do you think Omega will raise their prices in the Speedmaster? If so, have a guess when? Seems like they follow suit with Rolex around Feb.

Omega prices have risen 30% over the last 5 years or so, but I'll be damned if anyone's actually paid a nickel more.

I do know that it's very, very common for a lot of special forces types (using "special forces" here as a catch-all for SEALs, Green Beret, Delta, etc) to wear high-end watches. Especially Submariners and Seamasters.
