Sure, you could go buy the movement on ebay and then scour ebay/amazon for the movement holder, screwdrivers, tweezers, magnetizer tool, finger cots, pliers and organizing case, but they've put it all together in one package for you and thrown in a beginner's guide.

At $140 you're basically paying $70 for convenience and not having to worry about tracking down everything you need. Plus the guide.

I'm not buying it but I also don't think it's the worst markup in the watch world.

Does anyone have a Longines AD hookup? I'm looking at picking up a 39mm Spirit Zulu Time (black on bracelet if it matters) and would like to avoid MSRP. I'm not expecting to get close to the 30%+ you can get off of the 42mm, but something would be nice.
