Another GMT rec in the $5,000 range would be the Seamaster Aqua Terra GMT. They can be had for right at to slightly under $5,000 if you're patient and willing to look around.

Farmer….I think any of us would buy a CW off you if you would buy one and see one in person and honestly not appreciate it in person once seeing it up close. For the price point, it's insane what you get. If you're looking for resale value, yeah, don't go that route. But, if you want a kickass daily wear that you don't have to be paranoid about every time you accidentally bump your watch against your desk, it's a no brainer.

Your whole Rolex or bust schtick is so 10 yrs ago.

It's not Rolex or bust. There are cheaper options that give you a lot on the wrist(I always point to Nomos here, but the board has fallen in love with Tudors at a little higher price point). The guts of almost all their watches are a Sellita, which is the same as the large majority as the "cheap" small manufactures across the globe. There isn't any history. There isn't much that makes it special. They just don't seem to interest me.

If anything I think he's on the opposite side of what you think.

His idea of a very nice piece isn't a Rolex Sub, it would be a JLC or a Lange (for something higher end), or maybe an interesting vintage dress watch.

What he probably hates most is the proliferation of big stainless steel sport models that have taken over the industry and ride in the wake of the Rolex hype train.

fair. Is there even a piece of you that appreciates these micro brands trying to insert themselves into a very saturated and good ol boys club luxury watch space? I don't jump on every cool looking micro brand watch, but I find it admirable to look up the stories of these watch enthusiasts that dive into a space that's hard to achieve any kind of market share in.

I'll always keep the traditional luxe brands sprinkled in with some newbies.

You have great taste and I still have to thank you for getting Nomos on my radar. I'll grab one at some point.
