I went to a Masters watch party yesterday I got there and immediately was pissed I didn't wear my Rolex.

If you aren't wearing your nice watch to a Masters party then WTF are you even doing owning one!

To the attendees of Mr. [Name Withheld] Masters Watch Party,

I am writing to each of you to formally apologize for my apparel on the afternoon of April 8 from approximately 1 pm to 6 pm. I personally committed multiple penalties in my appearance and presentation as noted forthwith:

- Overall color scheme of attire was too monotone.

I was taken aback by the conflicting bright and vivid colors of everyone else's clothing that you would normally never wear and clearly purchased just for this annual event. My more color coordinated ensemble, that I actually thought about before donning, would seem to be inadequate, in hindsight.

- Misrepresentation of proper tournament gear.

Not only did I not wear at least one article of clothing that was either Masters trademarked or at least Masters green, I had the audacity to wear a US Open vest. Although this vest was purchased at Pebble Beach while actually attending the 2019 US Open (which the vast majority of you could probably hope to never attain and would envy me on any other weekend of the year) this fact is irrelevant and displaying it on my person was inappropriate.

- I wore a Garmin to a Masters watch party.

My most grievous offense and the one I'm most ashamed of even though the Garmin fenix 5 is a fully capable, practical, and actual functional watch built for the sport of Golf as it can track scorecards, your performance stats, course stats, leaderboards from every golf course known, and even your swing analysis. However, I acknowledge that me wearing this watch to a golf event was highly suspect and irrelevant.

Instead, I knowingly walked out of my house leaving my beautiful, yet comparatively non-functional Rolex Milgauss turning in silent neglect upon its self winding watch stand. For this, I beg your forgiveness even though the best watch I saw was some sort of inferior Omega on a nato band. But that is beside the point!

I await your ridicule and possible revenge?

I turn 40 next year and am thinking about a birthyear Rolex with the criteria that it be on a jubilee bracelet, not have roman numerals and hopefully come with the box or something that has the year on it. Budget being less than 5 grand, but 2 being what I actually want to spend. Should I just troll chrono24, or find the exact ref. and go from there?

There are a few 1984 DJs out there for $4k, but a box and papers will be hard to come by in that range.
