Does anyone have a Seiko Cocktail Time? I saw this one in person today on a SS bracelet and it really caught my eye. Had a very Anordain-like face. I may go back and buy it.

What do you guys think about this one? The price is fairly decent for a solid gold piece, and I love the size and the detail on the globe

OMG. It's going to cost me $2,400 to fix my watch.

Make sure it's a licensed Rolex repair place. I'm not sure Rolex will touch a watch that's been repaired elsewhere if you need to have them work on it down the road.

I got in the modded gshock, and I cannot believe my eyes. The SS bracelet is indistinguishable from my AP RO bracelet, as in I can literally almost tell no difference. I *think* the polishing on the links might be better on the AP but I almost can't tell.

On the face you can definitely see the difference in machining and finishing but the bracelet is almost exactly the same.

Either way it's an incredibly fun value for a $550 watch.

1. Muhle Glashutte Sea-Timer BlackMotion. Box and papers. Was ordered with the same rubber strap and milled folding clasp as the Seebataillon GMT, instead of the sailcloth-type textile strap. Very comfortable to wear, sized for my 7-3/8" wrist, so could be made smaller. Ref. M1-41-83-CB. $1,850 shipped.
2. Ball Engineer M Marvelight. 43mm blue dial. NM2128C-S1C-BE. Tritium lume is incredible, 80 hour power reserve. Box, papers, extra links. $1,900 shipped.
3. Archimede Pilot 42 Automatik, white dial. 9.8mm thick. ETA 2824-2 movement. Box and papers. Leather strap is a 7 out of 10. $400 shipped.
4. Glycine Combat Iguana, pre-Invicta. Swiss made, ETA 955.112 quartz movement, only 6.5mm thick. Ref. 3854. Currently on a quality NATO, also comes with unworn factory black leather strap. $175 shipped.

1. Muhle Glashutte Sea-Timer BlackMotion. Box and papers. Muhle modified SW 200-1 movement with their woodpecker regulation, displayed with a sapphire case back. 300m WR. 41 hour power reserve and great lume. Relatively thin for a diver at 12.5mm, it has a bi-directional bezel and is coated in titanium carbide. AR coating on the sapphire crystal is very effective, allowing the gloss vs. matte dial effect to show well. Was ordered with the same rubber strap and milled folding clasp as the Seebataillon GMT, instead of the sailcloth-type textile strap. Very comfortable to wear, sized for my 7-3/8" wrist, so could be made smaller. Due to the coating on the case and bezel, the only apparent wear is to the clasp. Ref. M1-41-83-CB. $1,850 shipped.



2. Ball Engineer M Marvelight. Ball's in-house movement RRM7309-C which is COSC certified and has a 80 power reserve and 28,800vph. Ref. NM2128C-S1C-BE. The case is 43mmx13.4mm. Screw down crown with 100m WR. Polished center links on the bracelet with polished sides, secured with a butterfly clasp. This is really a beautiful watch that punches way above its class, IMHO. And the history behind Ball adds some interest. Box, papers, extra links. $1,900 shipped.




3. Archimede Pilot 42 Automatik. The white dial has a subtle texture and the applied gloss black provides a lot more visual interest than you'd expect. I don't think the white dial version is available any longer. Only 9.8mm thick with curved lugs, it wears very nicely. Sapphire display back. ETA 2824-2 movement that has been remarkably accurate for me. Box and papers. Leather strap is a 7 out of 10. $400 shipped.
