Random question, but feel like somebody here might know if it is possible or not worth pursuing.

I have an old watch with the A&M seal and small diamonds around the face. I would like to make a custom watch, using that face, but with an automatic (is that the right term? Manual? Not quartz or battery ran). Is there anybody around that could do that?

My grandmother bought the watch for me when I graduated so there's a lot of history to it for me, but I would like to upgrade it.

Definitely possible. How handy are you? The easiest option would be to pull it apart and measure the face in mm, then figure out if there's a commercial auto (seiko are very popular for mods) available with the same size dial. Then pop hands off, pop dial off, do the same on the donor watch and put your stuff on (most likely attaching your dial to the donor movement using dial dots. If it's 28.5 or 29mm you have lots of options, if it's something else you might have to go down a rabbit hole. Sounds fun and a worthy project! Good luck!

My opinion is you're already paying a 007 cool tax on Omega. Now you're paying it twice.

Talk to FTAC2011. He's got a good rep on this site and with some lead time can probably find exactly what you want.

Still haven't decided on the 007 but most likely passing. I think I'd rather go with a different one. I did however pick up a new "at work" watch.
