speaking of maroon watches, has the date cherry aquis ever been discussed on here? I think it is close enough to maroon (and even if not it changes in the light, so just turn your wrist a mm in the light to get true maroon as needed) to pass as an Ag watch and actually within the price range compared to the perfection silian just threw up for us all to drool over...

That's the configuration I've been looking at almost daily. I don't have any watches to contribute to the thread, and that one may be my first nice(ish) watch. While it's not even close to some of your other pieces, how do you like it?

Completely agree. But there's lots of people that hate complexity of moon phase or power reserve or chromos, etc that love simplistic elegance.

And to be fair in a work environment or dress up environment it probably fits better than some of the high end watches I've posted that I'd love as a dress watch that others would see as just too busy.

Love it. Would work great for an Aggie watch (but even better for a Hokie watch).

Man for some reason that's the main draw for me of those Aquises (Aquisi? What's the plural of aquis...). But then again I really like shiny things.

nah, valid feedback for sure, just didn't know which watch you were referencing. that's my fear about it too...I've tried to find enough real world pics of it to see just how glary it is

I really like that. I have a cheap o Daniel Wellington watch I bought years ago for a thin white face watch. I wore it yesterday for the first time in forever because I had on French cuffs for probably the first time since March 2020. Didn't notice the battery had died until I left the house and was thinking of replacing it with a nice plain automatic.

it's a great looking watch. Personally, I would go with something a little more universal as my "first nice watch" but opinions differ.

Silian probably has a watch and a pair of shoes for every day of the month, but some of us have budgets.
