Thoughts on Tudor Black Bay Pro or Tudor GMT?
I'm a Tudor guy, but unless you want a multi tone sporty / fun kind of GMT watch they don't have a model for you. Something more sophisticated like that Longines is really nice. Even if it's less expensive.AgEng06 said:
Agree. I really like the look of all 3 (black is classic, the green has the vintage look, and the sunray blue is awesome).
not to re-hash this debate, but those loud bezels don't scream "suite attire" to me.Serotonin said:
I agree with all that.
I'd go try both on and think about what you're planning on wearing them with. IMO the GMT is a little more versatile. I think about the following settings with a watch:
- Suit or blazer/slacks
- Generic work attire (collared shirt and pants)
- Weekend attire (polo or t shirt and shorts)
- BBQ/Pool attire (shirt and swimsuit)
To me it's a tie the last two categories but I think the GMT wins in the first two.
I generally agree but I do think it would well with a blue suit or blue blazer in the right setting.Diggity said:not to re-hash this debate, but those loud bezels don't scream "suite attire" to me.Serotonin said:

My next watch will likely be a GMT, and I'm currently considering the Black Bay GMT, BBPro, and the new Longines Zulu Time.
I love the look of the BB GMT, and thought it would for sure be the one, but the Longines is also very nice and has really consumed my thoughts lately.

Christopher Ward has some new watches dropping tomorrow. A pic of them has leaked. Looks like those with a dislike of the logo should be pleased.
Sapphire bezel w/ lume - did not see that coming....
I like the Green Oris the best of these four. Not only because it looks sharp, but because those other watches are upside down and I'm not sure why someone would buy an upside down watch. Would be hard to read.TheOC16 said:
What should I add to the collection?
I've sold three watches in the past three weeks, so now my collection is back down to two mainstays:
I'll keep it to sport watches, as the datejust is dressy enough for me right now and I'm hoping a JLC Reverso will be in my future (but it's at least a year or two away). Ideally I'd like to find a everyday/beater around $2K and then just sit around a while and wait to catch a good deal on a higher end ($8-12K) piece, maybe something from FTAC or a Rolex AD in the next year or two. Here are some that I'm liking at the moment (obviously a couple of these sit in between my two budgets):
I've found that I like watches with "flashy" (for lack of better vocabulary) or maybe textured case designs, I'm not into your typical everyday watch like a Rolex Explorer, Omega Aquaterra, etc. So as much as I'd love a Spring Drive movement, GS's case designs just don't really speak to me. What other suggestions do you have? I'm going to do some shopping around in the next couple months.
Digging that especially for $185.Teddy Perkins said:

Haven't looked into the warranty but according to the Dappered post, Macy's is an authorized dealer and they claim you would get the factory warranty. I'm assuming that doesn't apply to the pre-owned watches though.TheOC16 said:
Edit to add, I did look closer and it appears the Hamiltons don't come with the factory warranty, so it would be about the same as purchasing from Jomashop.

Yes you could find some of these watches for less from some sketchy gray market shop on eBay or somewhere else. But who knows what you're getting with those types. You're certainly not getting a factory warranty. Which you will be with an authorized dealer like Macy's.
39-42mm is kind of my range that looks right.jh0400 said:
Kicking around the idea of another dive watch as a change of pace from my skx, but I would want the 40mm if I got one.
