Yeah, I'm not seeing the appeal to these at all.
As a guy who owns and wears a real OG moon watch I think these are whimsical and fun for what they are. A $260 piece with a unique story and some cool (and some awful) color combos.

Rolex is pushing to go up a tier and pull Tudor up a tier behind it. Then you have the exact opposite in this. Just seems to really cheapen the brand. You don't have to go to Harwin to get a battery operated knock off. Omega is making them themselves.
I've never been an Omega fan, but I wouldn't be happy about this if I had a moon watch.
Maybe not if you bought a new "moon watch", but I have a 105.012 and they ain't making any more of those so I view this as an "imitation is the sincerest form of flattery" type thing. I'll add one of these to my collection for ultra casual occasions.

I guess. I like wearing my Rolex because it's recognizable and there's not much chance for someone to confuse it for something else. This pretty much ensures that's not the case for these now.
I appreciate that. I wear my speedy and enjoy when other people recognize it, have one too, and then talk about what kind each of us have.

I can see where your coming from on the actual moon watch knockoff version, but on the other colors I think it is just a fun novelty. I dont think anyone here thinks it is some backdoor way to own a high end watch locally. I can absolutely see why people think it is a gimmick and don't like it though.
The two people I personally know with the most impressive watch collections are probably the more excited about these than a person wanting a "speedy" for $260. They each have multiple six figure watches and can't wait to buy and wear these as part of their rotation.

I think that the Swatch Omega collab is cool, but I also tend to lean in the opposite direction as most on this thread in regard to luxury brands. Props to Omega for not taking themselves so seriously. If that's a problem for some there are plenty of other pretentious brands out there.
As an owner of both an Aqua Terra and a Speedie, I'm not keen on rushing out for a Mission watch. If I were, the Pluto or the Jupiter would be my first choice. In any event, I swapped out the bracelet on my Speedie for my smoke grey Cordura strap from Barton to change things up for a couple of weeks.

it's a special edition collaboration watch that looks pretty nice (online at least). I would be interested to see the fit and finish but it looks like a fun little watch. Clearly the materials are going to be a lot more modest in this price range.
Omega has always had quartz watches so not sure why that's a big deal.
I've never worn the things to be recognized by other people. I just think they're nice looking watches.

I just think they're fun and a little wacky, something that fits the Swatch brand more than the Omega brand. Similar to the Oyster Perpetual in my opinion, except they put the Rolex name on that.
